    I haven't soldered it yet but on touching pin 1 on boot i got 6000 pop up then i got init on the display nothing else as of yet interesting though some kind of life !!!

      Pin 2 on chip has been turned up and i have connected to this so figure that out why it boots ok now??

          turned up would isolate the pin from the normal circuit so it could be wired.
          I assume the ic is corrupt,the only permanent clean fix would be to replace the chip using one from another receiver with something else wrong with it.

            on mine I had to remove the resistors going to pins 5 and 6 to isolate the chip so I could use other firmware like globo hd x100
            maybe I will restore those and try the jumper fix.

              I don't know if your chip is a real protection ic or just a clone eeprom.
              You would have to check the sys info page for the chip id and compare against the list of know good id's

                sorry but this is my opinion FIITC not worth the time to fix it when you can buy them by the gramme not slagging any one i used to j tagg the 500s because jok told me that was when they were proper tucker my son bought a slybox f5s for 26 euros including p and p not worth fixin in my opinion SORRY

                  if you have a hot air gun you can desolder from another defective receiver if you can get it for free or cheap then solder the chip in with a small tip soldering iron.Modern receivers that use chips like this are almost a pleasure to work on vs the old 48pin tsop flash chips which were just about impossible to work on at home.

                    pin 2 is normally grounded and is part of the chip i2c bus address lines.So lifting it and tying it to +3.3v like the jumper does changes the i2c bus address for the chip.How that fixes anything I don't know.
