It's always a risk using 3rd party firmware or even original firmware this day and age.
Can I ask how you were able to contact skybox themselves because the actual skybox website doesn't have contact details on it. Other companies selling skybox (including clones) have contact details on their site so I assume you actually just contacted a company that just sells skybox?
If skybox were a bit forthcoming with updates then customers wouldn't have to try and resort to using 3rd party firmware to try and solve some issues. These channels have been a problem for many, many months I'm sure I read but nothing from skybox about a fix.
The latest problem with 7-day xmltv epg being an hour out has been like this for a week now and again no fix yet.
It's a shame because these boxes are good cheap basic boxes but with problems that can go on for months (sometimes never fixed) I've started to look elsewhere at other boxes that have firmware updated more often.
You have to manually type the password for the rar file.
You should always backup existing firmware, settings, channel list and other things.
Unless you watch these channels then it's not advisable to install this firmware as you will not gain from it and may have problems viewing certain channels unless you have backed everything up.
