That makes no sense. There are many box suppliers very nervous at the moment. If there was a fix they would have it out in the public domain pronto. These guys will pay big bucks to oscam/cccam etc developers to supply a solution and keep shipments of these boxes ticking over

FYI, I posed the issue on a chinese forum and here was the response

'The actual issue is due to over-encryption of the stream that is managed inside the BCM chip or ST chip, etc. Depending of the CPU of the box you use. These "new", now "old" chips can have a specific microcode loaded inside the CPU that does that job of overencrypting/descrambling the stream.

SKY encryption is starting to use this for HD streams. As wrote above, SKY IT HD encryption has been broken/cracked and is available on professional CS servers.'

When cable went to N3 it was the end of the game for the hobbyist. The Kryptviews and Starviews took over. If what is quoted is to believed above it would seem that satellite sharing will only be available to the big servers.

To be honest I'm not terribly pushed. I have Irish channels on terrestrial, bbc and ITV channels on satellite, films and series on tsmedia (watch what I want when I want). The sports channels may be an issue as the sly streams will no longer work as they were based on being able to decrypt the channel and upload the descrypted stream to the internet. That said TSmedia has a lot of other IPTV sports streams so if I'm going thru withdrawal I'm sure I can find what I need somewhere .

Overall I think most folks have seen this coming for some time now and have had provisions in place. Personally I think it would be such a laugh if all Sky has done is made the pay-servers bigger by their actions. Wow, would they be sickened :-)

After speaking to a supplier, they are very convinced that they will have HD back again by end of next month at a max. Now of course this could be full on standard salesman talk, but could be very true. All in all, SD coverage is fine at the moment and long may it continue, cant moan about not having HD in the circumstances its obtained.

just read on another forum sky Italy sd channels have gone blank screens so its getting interesting i can not confirm this asi said just read

Thats what I am really thinking about, I know lots of people with old SD only tv's and only SD equipment, so how can SLug do away with sd channels ??? doesnt seem possible, does it, or does it ?

I even have a legit paid for SD Slug box myself, its not subscribed etc, but just sitting there from years ago when it was subbed, last I looked I got all the SD channels available on free to view channels like freesat really I suppose apart from the HD of course.

Maybe they are going to buy everyone HD tv's too + a new box

or just to get of the sat at 28e for a moment
on 1w there are channels showing a message
saying from today this channel is no longer available on a standard tv decoder , this channel will only be available on a HD decoder so i guess once the new boxes and cards go out for 28e any subscriber who has received or is'nt using the new box will loose there service. with a linux box a scan or from the service list you can find the channel for a hd box

Hi where did you get this rubbish from... SKy ITALIA working perfectly so are most HD channels as well. There will NEVER be blank screens as there are people out there who are very clever.

i think he was referring to the primafillia SD chns that
have virtually all but gone as well as the HD and
not the *** chns but you must be one of the very few
who has the ***HD chns open on 13e they have been down from
last November there are lots of posts every where stating this

most HD boxes have a scart connection as well, so dont think would worry about buying HD tvs

my legit paid for and owned now but not subscribed for anymore Slug box is totally SD, only has a Scart socket, don't want any other box or an HD TV, so then where do they go now ?

If your a genuine customer using a Thomson Box, then your not ok.

Just called Sky (for the last 2 hours) and their technical team have no idea what's going on.

I just acted like a standard customer, and I've been fobbed off with everything from "We'll resend the signal" to "You need a new viewing card".

I'm actually going to play dumb throughout to see where it takes me.

It's clearly the end of the line for using my own box (Which is all I wanted), No I'm going to fight for as many freebies as I can while they sort it.

If you have a Thompson box you should be very happy and leave the phone calls alone. The only result you get is a new upgraded paired box and card. What else are you expecting.
