    Upgrade file is mismatch?

OK so here is the issue I am having, when I got my V5S I upgraded it to the latest Skybox firmware from Skybox.cc, upgrade went fine. Problems I am facing is Youtube does not work 90% of the time, so I thought I'll reflash the firmware. I have tried Openbox V5S firmware and Skybox firmware both give the same issue. UPGRADE FILE MISMATCH.

Doing a bit of research it seems this is a problem with clone boxes. Problem is mine is not a clone or it would not of let me upgrade it originally when I got it.

    My box info is

    MAIN CHIP: ALI HD 3601 . 3501C
    OEM ID 0001
    Software 3601HD_10_04_2014_0670

Perhaps you can only flash firmware newer than what is currently installed? I only wanted to reflash.

You might be right because I've never tried reflashing the same firmware but I would have thought it wouldn't make any difference as I know by doing it previously that you can put older firmwares back on the box. There could be other reasons for a file mismatch. The Skyboxes are very temperamental with regards to the names of files i.e. they must be correctly named. If you have downloaded several instances of the same file in the same pc folder or usb stick then Windows will add numbers to them e.g (1), (2), etc which the box won't recognise and that will give a file mismatch error. Also in some instances of upgrading files, merely highlighting them with the remote does not mean the file has been correctly selected for upgrading. Some people forget that the selected file must also have a tick placed on it by pressing the OK or Yellow button on the remote control. I can't remember if this latter scenario applies to the firmware files as these days I upgrade using the LAN tool. Another possible cause could be a corrupt download or a corrupt extraction so it might be worth retrying a download using a different browser. Last, but not least, you'd be surprised by how many people try upgrading a file without extracting it first. That would definitely cause a file mismatch.

No problem - but a word of caution - use of the Lan tool is at your own risk! Several people have reported that their box has frozen/bricked on them when upgrading certain files as the tool can corrupt the files. I find that it works ok with the .abs and .dbs files ( firmware and channel list ) and I have been using it for months but wouldn't use it for any other file.
