If I aimed a dish at 13e hotbird would it be possible tune a skyboxf3 into italian free to air channels? Is there something I would need to do in the menu or would just a blind scan do the job? The box is preloaded with the uk aj's list etc...

At the moment my box when I go to menu, antenna setup, sateillite says (1/1 sky uk 28a). My dish is currently aligned to astra. I want to take the box to a friends house who has a dish pointing at 13E. Would this just automatically change? He is Italian and looking for a box to get Italian FTA. You think this is possible?Comment

Will that be me good to go with a blind scan after that? What I am doing here is finding out what his dish is capable of picking up with an old f3 I have before I telli him to go buy a box for himself. I will then return my box to my settings when I bring it home.Last edited by walf; 3 October, 2014, 14:13.Comment

Hi if your friend has a fixed dish then i would do the following:
1) Delete all TP's(frequencies) for Hotbird. This will get rid of good and bad frequencies.
2)Do a blind scan - this will retune all up to date frequencies/channels etc. This is assuming the dish is properly aligned to Hotbird. You can tell if its aligned properly by the numbers of channels found. If its an HD receiver it should tune in over 1000 channels.
3) When scan completed you can edit the channels in the order that you want etc.
Regards.

I'm assuming his dish is ok. The problem he has is Rai 1,2,3 are now encripted to FTA Italy. He basically has two options that I can see if he wants these channels back.
1. Tivusat box and card paired from ebay is around ?150 and will get him all FTA plus Rai 1,2,3. Im sure he could get it from Italy cheaper but not sure?
2. He tries out a skybox f3 if all the channels tune in but pays are scrambled then he could sub to a server?Comment
