cant understand how they would all work with my dish setup though

If the dish is out a fraction 1st to go is HD channels

Does your relative have any another sat boxes ($ly+ box?) connected to the same dish, or does he perhaps use a communal dish?

Without checking all the channels you mention, it might be that the channels you get no signal on might all be on vertical transponders which can be affected by having another box connected to the same dish.

Have a look at the polarisation (H or V) of the no-signal channels. If they are all on vertical trasponders, he might need a "no signal fix" from Ebay.

He has no other box connected and has a single dish. Hes getting the dish orientation checked on Monday as weve had some very high winds lately and it might have moved slightly. Been on cable for a year or more so its possible. If that doesn't fix it Ill be back begging for help again!
The majority (but not all) are vertical by the way

Most 'non free to air' channels don't clear anymore, haven't done for over a year, however, btsports channels, AMC, rte2 and eurosports should be available.
