You needto press the Pair button on the homeplug connected to the router for about 4 seconds......then, within 2 minutes(I think) you need to press the Pair on the second homeplug once. All three lights should light up on both homeplugs.

      That didn't work unfortunately

I can see the cable flashing in the back of the box but still no luck, it doesn't seem to be online

The FTA channels are still there

Could you turning your box off have something to do with this? I would try again leaving box on. I need to get to my bed mate but you may need to get into your router to see settings but the pairing should be enough. Anyway, Good luck.

something daft like 192.168.0.1 << type that into your browser. If that does not work find the manual that came with the router or look online. You need the router password what normal is on the back. This is different from your internet password. One in look at settings and find DHCP and turn on. Must go, bit of luck someone else is online to help more. My sky router is an old one so if your using a new sky router that ip number may differ.

unfortunately the router didn't come with a manual, I only see the web IP and the internet password.

Typing the IP into the browser its asking for a username and a password which i don't have. I know its some kind of linkem modem, i have the model number.

I wonder am I going off the beaten track a bit though, I hope im not messing up settings when its something simple

My first sky password was sky then i got the square router that had the wps button on the front and that was admin. I soon changed them to something else but it looks like you have something else. Is it one from sky? if so there must be a setup guide on the sky website. Unless you have changed the password and username it came with then you can reset the router. Info you need is the IP address like what i said and that password. The password to get on the internet and wireless name (SSID) All that info should be on the router or you were given a card from the engineer.
My sky+ box is also older and its not wireless. Sky have me a little box to get the online content hence having a router with WPS on the front to communicate with the box. If i ever set my router back to standard DHCP is on from the start.

From what i was reading it looks like your router is fine. I would try and reset your two wireless adaptors. Plug in and on you should have a reset button or a hole you pop a pin in for a few seconds. They would have came with instructions. Reset them and try the pair again. If you are not getting any online activity on your TV box then it must be a setting in the box.

Have you called your wifi supplier to check they dont have some sort of firewall/security activated on your router , other than that just reset your plugs

Home plugs are classed as a wired connection not wifi

read the following tutorial on pairing home plugs the only difference in the tut the pairing buttons are on the bottom not on the front as yours.

Hi there, thanks a million for replying to my post.

Basically, our router is in the kitchen its connected to its own power plug, theres a connection wire (like a phone line) from outside plugged into router, and then I have a TP Link plug attached to it via ethernet cable.

Then in the other room where the box is, I have another TP link plug in the wall with an ethernet cable running to the back of the box.

The box will not pick up internet at all. Ive taken the wire out of back of box and plugged it into my laptop and turned off wifi on laptop, and ive managed to connect to internet via ethernet on my laptop.

Similarly ive done the same in the kitchen with the router, ive connect my laptop to the router via ethernet and ive got a connection.

I think i've already pair the homeplugs both plugs have all 3 lights flashing

i'm guessing that its my skybox f5 that is the problem then. It was working only until we changed internet connection.

Do I need to update the firmware for the f5? is there a step by step guide on how to do this and where to get the update from? I'd hate to wipe something important from the box and render it completely un-usable

How to Upgrade / Flash Firmware :

2- Get an USB stick formatted with fat 32 and put the doanloaded file into the root.
3- Turn On the SkyBox F5 or f3
4- Press menu and go to tools.

it will load the firmware and ask you to confirm before installing new firmware.
