Selling dreambox - need to reset password?

If selling a dreambox is there a need to reset the password to dreambox for the new owner?

    I presume so.

How come anytime I flash a new image I still use my non "dreambox" password to login via DCC?

if you are NOT pressing the flash erase button on DreamUP first before flashing then your old var partition will still remain on the box's flash. press flash erase first.

I usually tend to flash via browser only.

Anytime I have done so I always log back in with the same password I had originally set and it is recognised by DCC.

Only thing I have done with a new image is to assign the same IP as the previous one.

Does the password not remain on the box regardless of a flash because otherwise how do you explain my logging in with the same password?

Its no nig deal as I will reset it to dreambox but just curious.

Just factory rest box then change then password manually.

Save you waiting on flashing with dreamup.

If there is nothing special about the password, why bother. As long as he knows what it is.
