he told me to look for bt vision box on fleabay,i saw one for a buy it now price for ?25,enquired about it and said to him i just want the homeplugs you can keep the bt box,anyway i got the homeplugs for ?20 inc postage and he ended altering his ad for box only

dont think you can do that m8. Saying this not from personal experience but numerous threads I have seen on the same subject

You will be very lucky if you get two different manufacturers items to communicate successfully together.
generally most manufacturers use there own communication type as there is no written rules on how they communicate through the devices, the only accepted rule is data leaving device to talk to the peripheral that it is connected to, hence you take a gamble when using different manufacturers.
