Dhl cs is based in India and they ain't got a clue, had few issues myself, once told me My box would arrive on bank holiday Monday, waited in all day, then went online to discover they don't deliver on b h Monday,
What's annoying is the drivers can take payments. For the sake of 7 quid you would have thought they would deliver and collect payment at the door,
At least it got thru anyhow, could have been much worst had it gone thru London Heathrow,

i usually get letters afterwards asking for tax, but when i say letter i mean a scratty bit of paper with a pro forma invoice that is hardly printed and means **** all !

so i dont pay em, so maybe now they will hold stuff until people pay the custom charges.

Yaoxim generally put value as $35 and a tv test equipment

I have found that stuff going through Heathrow and East Midlands attracts taxes.

If it comes through Germany then Manchester taxes seem to get overlooked.

I have a parcel at Manchester and spoke to a girl there yesterday morn, she arranged for delivery Tues with pay by cheque to driver.

How did you manage to pay online? When I entered my tracking number it wasn't recognised.

Yes, and got no charge. It took 3 weeks to come and that was about 4 months ago.

China post and EMS usually by passes the tax system. You should ask the seller to declare low value samples.

                Hi

My tracking number was recognised so was able to pay and got confirmed by a payment reference number although on there website its still showing as : Shipment held - Available upon receipt of payment. One of the links on the earlier posts take you to the onlne payment page.

Yet the woman on the phone said to me that I could go and collect. Dont know how the depot would have let me have it as not showing payment but the girl did check reference number and confirmed payment had been made but their system hadnt been updated...... Dont know how long they need, not sure if Il actually get it Tues if it keeps showing this message.

I am going to be complaining once I get box though.

                Regards

                  Hi

DW190 - Did you get notified of your parcel being held or did you do the chasing yourself.

                  Regards

OP - Ive ordered loads from Yaoxin, great service btw. DHL ALWAYS do this, they make you pay a small charge, and it always happens in the way you have described. I just ring them and tell them Im coming down to pick it up, I send the mrs with the cash and all is good

But on the other hand, they do take there time to contact you about it. Ive had to wait a couple of days before they have rung me before, so now I watch the tracking page untill it reaches them and call them before they call me. Wierd how it can take 2 days to get from HK but it goes tits up when it gets to the UK..

                        Hi

I tried calling the local number but it just kept going to voicemail so just got fed up and the national number kept me hanging on for about 1/2 hr but you learn from this and hopefully next time will be smoother.

Lol you right it was in Uk within 24hrs of being dispatched but has took longer here. Just going to check again not too optimistic though.

                        Regards

guys ive said numerious times if buying from china use EMS shipping. It deliveried via royal mail and only once in nearly 3 years of buying have i ever been hit with customs charges.

I've recently been buyinf from Dreambox and service and quality has been great

                              Yep
Bonesy is dead right. Ems is the safest method. No charges an more importantly no confiscations

Had a message left on my landline answerphone which the wife didnn't notice but they rang again in the afternoon and she took a message with the 0844 number and the tracking number. She said she oped it was right as she had dificulty understanding the caller. ?31.44 for a ?200.00 value.

I telephoned Manchester on Saturday and told them the 0844 number wasn't answered (refuse to use profit sharing numbers) and the nice lady said she would arrange delivery on Tuesday and I could give the driver a cheque.

                                We'll see what happens.
