        Hi

Surprise suprise, just rang them up to be sure, didnt expect anyone to answer but it did and the woman confirmed that if it says out with courier then its on the van and will be delivered today, couldnt narrow down the time though.

This has messed me up even more now as I have to have someone to recieve delivery........ not very impressed with DHL and there total lack of communications and the misinformation given when I have managed to make contact.

        Regards

            Hi

Agree impressive to be delivering on bank holiday but miffed that when I rang on Sat I got told it would be on Tues so I had plans for today which Im having to reaarange and missus not impressed with me.

Someone mentioned earlier or I read somewhere that some of workers for couriers work on a self employed basis and maybe thats the reason but surprised DHL being a national company is opening up its doors for the self employed workers on a bank holiday if that is the case.

            Regards

              Hi

Missus can take a chill pill and I can relax..... Its been delivered.
It was marked as, gift - personel use.

Not sure as on invoice customs duty and excise duty is marked as 0.00 but DHL/customs seem to have imposed vat on the gift value of ?27.26 which is broken down as ?5.45 vat and ?1.25 totalling the ?6.70.

Wierd thing was Id paid online and on the box it stated collect money from customer and the driver asked me for it and so I had to get my lappie and show him Id allready paid.... Makes you think if that was the case they could have just delivered Sat and asked me for money.

DHL needs to get a few things sorted out.

Anyway Im not bothered now its arrived and time to play later, thanks everyone for your input.

              Regards

                      Hi

Bummer, I thought that was the value that yaoxin must have put down for the gift, so are you saying I have to pay customs ?27.26 when letter arrives.

Package wasnt opened as far as I could tell so how do they what was inside.

What if you dont pay when/if letter does arrive.

                      Regards

Re: Dreambox clones and UK Customs

I got 3 boxes from china ages ago (delivered by DHL) , thought I'd got away with paying the
                        charges,
                        then about 6 months later I got a bill for ?25 ,
Never paid it though and still getting the usual (if you dont pay this immediatley
you will be referred to a debt collector)
                        letters ,
                        hopefully they will give up

the reason they knew what was in the box without opening it was because the ran it through a xray machine.
