Hi all

I am new to here; was trying the last weekend to get a server up and running transforming the stream coming from my dreambox (7020) and to be able to convert it to be able to connect from work to my home network and watch TV.
I tryed to get VLC player working as a streaming server - without of any success.
Today my brother went to Google and told me that there's a "tunisian player and streamer" and so I got the version 5.1 - which didn't open port 1234 on my machines.
Going to this thread I found the new version which is now up and running, I am really happy!!!

But I still have some questions.
I'd like to use the "advanced" settings as I am absolutely happy about the picture but the tone sound like passing a watering can ;-)
I already tried to play around with the settings but mostly even the built in viewer didn't show any picture. I never git an external player connecting to the server.

So I'd like to know what are the basic settings which have to be made to the advanced menu to match the 400+ setting?
I plan to reduce video bandwidth and add some mor bandwith to audio.
My current upload speed is ~1MBit/sec

Great program!
Everything works well except one thing. On my server computer a VLC window pops up every time I restreame a channel.
It dosent matter if I start restreaming locally or from a remote client.
After a while I get quite a lot of VLC windows on the server... one new for each time I change channel.
I guess some file type is wrongly associated to VLC?
I only have this problem on the server, not the remote client.Any tips how I can fix this?

thanks for your interest
this occurs if use later versions of vlc for techniqal reason
to avoid this just use version vlc .99 and not vlc windows popup at all and program will manage streaming within the program itself
The program use vlc active x ,after version .99 vlc team decide to disable restreaming from active x so i have used vlc itself for streaming if user uses vlc above version .99

if no restreaming then either port 1234 is not opened and forwarded or dns address is not correct or not active
alot of discussion about these things and how to validate written in above posts

Thanks for the advise to use VLC version .99, now it works as intended!
Another question:
With High-400 settings every thing workes OK and the stream is ~1 mb, but...
I have a 2 mb upload to my ISP and I want to improve the quality of the stream but I have no success with advanced settings.
Do you want to share the settings for the High-400 restreaming? If I knew them it would be a lot easier to optimize the advanced settings.

First I must say that I am new here but I already did some research to get my Dream-box 500 streaming to the internet, you know stream some Soccer games for some friends who dont get the channels and so,but till now I never found a Program that really worked for me,so I gived the Tunisia Dream2Web Streamer a try,it works really fine on my lan but the Problem is streaming over the net...
the First Problem is that it seems that i Cant get my 1234 Port forwarded,I dont know if it is a problem with my internet Provider or my router,so I saw her that there is a way to change the Port on The Program,but I cant find it on Tunisia Dream2Web 5.0.0??can somebody tell me what is the last version of Dreambox web reciever and dreambox player and webstreamer and where can I download it ?it will also be cool if Mfarag can update the link on the firt post on this thread so everybody can directly download the latest version of the programms.
The second Problem I was just wondering if my Image The Edg Nemesis ist really a good Image for Streaming over the net?
The Third Problem if I get my PC at home to start streaming is there any Program for mac or IPhone ,that I can use to watch the stream and switch the channels?
I'll be very thankful if somebody could give me some help to get it working

1- dream2web streamer is experimental version of dreambox player and streamer ,last version of dreambox player and streamer is 5.07 and download from here and first post updated by the latest version now as you requested(thanks for you)
for the last version you can choose the port number because port 1234 sometimes blocked by internet providers,check port is opened or not by forward portchecker and be sure about your dns address by ping from dos command
streaming to iphone either locally within lan or through internet is very easy
just tick streaming to mobile from settings and carry appearing internet address when start streaming and put it in vlc4phone in iphone side
if you have problems in any thing mentioned i am ready to give more clarification

This is the best soft i found for my dreambox 500s !!! It works fine for me! I want to ask (if it possible) to make some improvements I use sattelite 36e, and for program name mostly used russian language In your interface it difficult to read... Language change or just codepage could be wonderfull... Second wish - list of program to be numerated, integrated interface much better than webif, and changing of program will be easier.
