Dreambox streaming to internet,it was never easy like this

this strange behavior but i noticed same thing
i did this experiment
i put the moniter to power down every 1 minute

I opened acrobat reader first and wait,the moniter goes after 1 minute
The i opened windows media player and played file for short period and i closed it and wait and the moniter goes off after 1 minute
Then i opened smplayer(media player) and closed it and again mointers goes off after 1minute
Then i opened vlc player(version .99) and played media file and closed it and wait
after i minute the moniter goes off and become black for less than 5 seconds and power on again i wait for the next minute but never the moniter goes off
i concluded from this the problem in vlc and may be some vlc files interfer with power saving settings
my program depend on vlc so it is expected that the problem will occur with the program

for now i do not have explanation for that but i will search why this occurs

Problem with application crashing

Hello mfaraj, i've been testing your excellent application ver 5.07this evening and have managed to get the program streaming successfully from my main pc (acting as stream server) to another pc within my network. But there is a problem! Every time i change channel on my Dreambox, your program either crashes (dbviewer crash) or stops streaming??

My server PC is running windows xp sp3, AMD 64x2 Dual core 5200+ 2.71Ghz ,2GB Ram.

Any ideas?

Yes ,that,s true and this is limitation of the program with enigma1 machines
streaming is complicated procedure and prepared to do that with certain channel and when you change channel from dreambox the program crashed
in program itself i prevent changing channels while streaming but i could not do anything to prevent that from dreambox
i suppose when you do streaming,no need to change channel
and if you want to stream second channel,stop streaming and select second channel for streaming
all this are limitation in enigma 1 machine
in enigma2 machine,when playing or streaming by the program changing channels from receiver is prevented(similar to recording state)

Thanks for your reply maraj , its a real shame this happens because apart from that, its a really good app. I can't really start and stop the app remotely so this will mean I can only ever watch one channel when I'm out and about. I guess enigma 2 won't work with the DM500s? Is it not possible to have the app detect a channel change and to automatically start / stop? Would be the perfect fix for enigma 1 users

To control streamer-server program and to control dreambox,there is second program and can do many things remotely
Dreambox web receiver 5.02

can start ,stop streaming,switching channels and even recording in streamer pc harddisk

You need to open port 5678 in sever-streamer side and forward it to server pc ip
In web receiver just fill your dns address in settings
For web receiver program to work the streamer program should be running

Hi Mfaraj, In receiver mode, the only open ports available to me at work are 80 and 443, so as long as i can stream to 443 i should be ok. I change my channels by login in straight on the dreambox http via port 80. i will test tonight. Thanks

Hi,

First and as said in an other post, many thanks again for this great program.
I installed it and it worked within seconds on my Windows 7 PC.
streaming is working fine on HTC Touch Cruise windows mobile 6.5 Rom also, using Core Player.

May I ask you mfaraj57 what is the situation with the remote tool you started to build, to be able to change channels (and other things) from a smartphone please ?

Nice to hear that the program succeeded in streaming to smartphone
Regarding a remote tool to control dreambox from smartphone .
This is difficult to me because programming to mobiles are different task and i do not have skill for that
but you can change dreambox channel from mobile by entering dreambox ip or dns address to mobile internet explorer and you can see what called dreambox webinterface

Ah ok, i thought i had read you were working on something for Nokia and smartphones, but i was probably mistaken.
For information webinterface does not work when it is enigma2 in internet explorer or opera for mobile, cause it is flash. One can use "skyfire" to reach web interface from windows mobile.

One small question: if i put a password to reach my webinterface, then i have a black screen using the program, and the channel is not read. Did i do anything wrong please ?
