Tring Card read directly in CCcam 2.1.3

Hi there,

I have read that a Tring card can be directly read in CCcam 2.1.3 without NewCS.

Does anyone know if this is true as I have tried it but I haven't had any luck.

if your running the correct 2.1.3 and not the earlier fake editions then if your card wont open then no..

have you checked your entitlements tab..?

open your web browser, in the address bar type in your dreambox ip address then :16001

eg..

192.168.1.5:16001

The webpage that open should read..

"Welcome to CCcam 2.1.2 server"

Click on the entitlements tab.. what does it say

It should say, welcome to cccam 2.1.3 server.

I get

card reader /dev/sci0
no or unknown card inserted

So I'm guessing it can't read the card if it says that.

All I'm trying to do is get my Tring Card to update it's entitlements each month. I can get it to read the card in NewCS /CCcam but it doesn't update each month. I can't get NewCS/Mgcamd working and I'm told that's the only combination that can update the Tring card each month.

Can anyone else please offer any solutions ? LOL

I have a DM800 so I can't insert an official Conax CAM because there isn't a CI slot in a DM800.

Apologies for being dense but does this mean I will get my card updated each month from other people on my shares.

no mate you need to update your own card.. for instance Sky cards need to go into an official sky receiver to update.. i'm not sure if the same goes for a Tring card

If NewCS/Mgcamd is the only way to update it in your D800 then you'll have to get a grip of its workings mate otherwise your card will not update..

hopefully someone who uses NewCS/Mgcamd will be able to help you out further..

Your best bet might be to check out some of the dedicated card sharing forums.. google 'cardsharing forum' for more info

Card will update via peers if dish is not used on 16e. That config will allow others who cs to update for you.

you need to have

in your newcs.xml file for this to work

Sorry guys now I'm confused

opsmonkey mentioned that the only way to update is for me to update my own card.

Now Ferona mentions that by having the f lines set as F: user pass 1 0 1 it will update my card through my peers. Ferona I assume you mean my F lines in my CCcam config file.

I new to using the Tring card in a Dreambox so I appreciate your help !
