No, it's the scanning settings for the 'Automatic Transponder Scan' menu.

        xml online generator

If u don`t mind, I will update this post..

there is an online satellite xml generator for Dreambox, where you can customize and download your own satellites.xml file,

with the exact amount of satellites you need, get split different band transponders (C, Ku band...), HD or SD channels....

        it`s constantly updated....

"Currently in database: 155 positions / 5943 transponders
        Last update: 12,695 MHz @ Arabsat 2B 30.5E / 07.10.2008 @ 09:09 [GMT]"

Hi, thanks for this useful post.

i have a question: with my DM500s, I can lock, scan these 3 satellites (hotbird, astra1 and astra2) and watch their channels without problem. only problem: arabsat 30.5: I can't get any lock and scan. Could it be that I have to update this file: satellites.xml?

          thanks

It could be that the signal from 30.5 is weak or your dish could be misaligned so you are not getting good enough signal to lock on to the transponder.

ok, but if dish was misaligned, should I get 28.2 with 90% SNR and 0 BER?

The 28.2E satellite has a very strong signal in fact on my dish I get around 96% but than I also have a 1m dish.

You should get all channels with good signal quality with a 60cm dish, the signal is THAT strong.

if its motorised set up your arc could be out this would account for you only getting some transponders

                            Depends on your box FT.

                            Dm500 - /var/etc.
                            Dm600 - /etc/tuxbox.

Always take a backup of the current file incase this one doesn't agree with your box.

well that's different, you'll need a bigger dish, probably 80cm or above.
