i was asking in a post about clones or genuine dreambox and a person posted and said to get a genuine box you would have to buy off dream multimedia is this true or not with thanks.

genuine box you can by from sponsors on here like satstore etc, clones you can get from places like ukdreamshop..

I think the person who told you means.
If buying a original receiver, buy it from a dreammultimedia distributor.
If buying a clone then buy from saellite retailers.

Difference to check for

DM500s
Impossible to get NEW original now as they have stopped been manufactored

DM600S
The DM600S is very hard to tell which is original and clone as there are no clear differences (just make sure you buy from dream mulitmedia seller)

DM800HD
1) Tuner is differenent in Both
2) The casing as desribed before is matt not shiny
3) Notice what sim card is listed (if sim card is listed i.e Ferrari or 2.0.1) Clearly a clone

I have an original 800 HD and it was still killed while flashing... Took me days to fix it.. So I don't think there is much difference.
