for what its worth , i reckon its gotta be LNB , only working on one port originally then nothin suggests its faulty , if it were the dish , why didnt both ports work originaly .

I could be wrong , but its 1st thing i would check , and dont bother with crappy signal finders , your box has a perfectly working sat / signal finder

        good luck mate

Well lads, I got it working, im delighted, first thing I done when I got home from work was check the cables in the bedroom, the one that goes into the back of the box, the f connector, I took it off completly and put it back on and tightened it fully and started the box and it worked, have all channels back. Thanks a lot for all your help lads. Got a quad lnb off my dad but looks like I wont need that now.

it,s almost deffinitly the dish has moved, more than about 2-3mm in any diection.... no signal. if you want to move it yourself you'll need 10mm and 13mm spanner/socket and a cheap sat finder (unrelieable) to be honest , just get an installer to do, it's not worth the hassel, especialy going on to the roof, with out all equipment. i install dishes and do realingnments for 30-40 euros i'm sure you could find a local guy for a similar ? price and you won't have to risk a nasty fall.

If you damage an LNB it is mre than likely to be caused by shorting somewhere. Check the wiring.
However, new LNB's are pretty cheap so even if you bought a replacement (the lower the db, the better the quality) it is not going to leave you out of pocket that much if it turns out the LNB still isn't the problem.
Try and borrow a good meter to re-align as decent ones cost a few quid!
