Hey Sgt.
I've d/l your 500s bouquet, gonna try it when I get a chance.
I have nabilo darkstar11 image, so 28.2e is showing up as 28.4e,will this cause issues as your list is 28.2e ?," curious" suggests editing transponder in post 14, I think. Would like your opinion on this.
So I simply ftp it with dbe or dset and the relevant files will transfer to the right folders and then reboot?.
Now that sounds simple, bet I ~~~~ it up
.

I'd recommend updating your satellite.xml file from here and place it in var/etc folder

Thanks for the reply Sgt, clicked your link, selected 28.2e and d/l the xml file. Will this over write the original thats in the box once I transfer the file?. Sorry for the ?s, I'm still fairly new to this.

It should overwrite yes, But I would backup the original first rather than overwriting, That is what I do everytime

Hey Sgt, I used DCC to ftp the updated xml file.I think I saved the original. Then it asked if I wanted to overwrite the existing file, I said yes, job done. I reboot my box and I've still got the original one ? any ideas.
Sorry Sgt, when I transferred the file, I expected to see my bouquets change, this is not the case is it ?.
What difference should I see ?.
Thanks.

if all you have done is transferred a new satellites.xml file to the box then you wont see any difference. the satellites.xml file contains the settings your box needs to scan for the channels such as transponder data etc. to take full effect of the satellites.xml file you must now perform a re-scan.Hey Sgt, I used DCC to ftp the updated xml file.I think I saved the original. Ruberduck, tried a rescan, no sat listed in the auto scan dropdown tab, tried a manual scan, took about a sec. I must have all transponders, ya think ?. Dont understand no sat in dropdown tab in the auto scan, but its in the manual scan ?sigpicComment

Thanks again for the reply Sgt, I think my problem with no sat in auto scan is because when I generated the xml file I only chose 28.2e, could this be right ?. Also what sats should be in the drop down tab, I'm in Ireland. I've got a static dish so maybe I'm fine until I decide to get a motor ?
Cheers
Had a look b4 I tried this, my 28.2e seems fine in the set up, it only shows as 28.4e on the scan banner in the image, shouldn't be a problem should it ?Last edited by reddevil157; 14 September, 2010, 10:00.sigpicComment

The only reason I asked you to update the Satellite.xml file is some images hold the old transponders and is needing updated.
I recommend using Pli Jade image for the DM500, Give that a whirl and see how you get on
Menu > 6. Setup > Satellite & Transponders > Satellite Configuration > One Single Satellite > Dropdown Box find 28.2 Eurobird 1, Press Green to save
