just purchased a 500s

Would really appreciated some help
I purchased it from dvbmonkey. Switched it on and it appears with the digital-kaos logo. I did a simple search for all the channels and it only found a handfull (uk). If i flash the thing with gemini 2.0 will it sort the problem out and find all the channels that are available

your help would be most appreciated

thanx matey for the swift response. I for some reason pointed it to 19.2E and so it came back with majority of the freebie channel and the odd disney channel. during the inital setup i chose the basic setup with 1 lnb, is that where i may have gone in the wrong direction?

Gigsy, i have the same prob as you, how did you get on wi ur prob? Did u have to flash a new image. I thot i'd just bought an expensive freeview box when i kicked mine up. i was told it was just a plug and play and u get all channels. Maybe i mis-heard and i was told here ya mug away and play.

if you are after sky on 28e you will only get free channels as sky is not hacked in fact not a lot is these day only digi on 1west opens with keys but that going to change soon

im going to flash mine with gemeni 4.2 and take it from there, as u say at teh moment its just a free view box. The guys on the this site are awesome, they provide so much information. Much appreciated

M8 use the latest PLi Jade image very stable and one of the best for dreambox streaming etc

the post that you were referred to was 1 that i made a few days ago- im still trying to sort out the problem.

firstly you need to be going for Astra 28.2.

also you should not reflash your box with any gemini images- i would use jade PLi as my image of choice- it has access to updated channel lists especially for astra 28.2
