dm500 clone newbie images

hi guys i am new to the dreambox world and i have complied this thread to help others newbies, with tools and safe dm500 clone images.

my dreambox is set up via laptop/ router /dreambox. to config this network i used dream control centre v.2.96 make sure dhcp is enabled on your dreambox receiver via the network ,or communication settings, depending which firmware you have currently installed

then press the search buttons on the dream control centre page this will assign the ips for you or if you already know the ip of your router and dreambox simply enter the ip of your router and dreambox into the white areas,but you will have to deselect dhcp on your dreambox receiver settings and save then press reconnect on the dcc page

example of dream control centre:
this computer xxx.xxx.x.x
dreambox xxx.xxx.x.x
router xxx.xxx.x.x
the last number of each ip should be different

on your dreambox receiver network settings
ip :xxx.xxx.x.x
netmask :255.xxx.xxx.x
type:lan
nameserver: ip of router
gateway:ip of router

to setup ngrab server on your dreambox receiver enter the same ip as this computer on dream control centre i.e
xxx.xxx.x.1 ,then press blue button to decect mac address,port will be 4000
you will then will have to create a new folder on your laptop so that recorded files can go.

i did this by creating a new folder in documents libary i.e dreambox folder open the new folder and create another new folder i.e recordings
so it will be somethinmg like this
documents/dreambox folder/recordings.

the software you need on your laptop is ngrablite once installed open the software,right click the green icon in
task bar right hand corner of desktop page,click settings and the folder you created earlier for your recording to go is your target folder then press ok.

to flash/ patch /upgrade firmware i used flashwizard pro 6.3
click config and utilities enter dreambox ip into ip underneath dreambox#1 then select install firware into flash memory(YOUR DREAMBOX SHOULD BE TURNED ON NOT STANDBY)
find the firmware file it will be a .img file on your laptop/pc. it will be in downloads open the rar file to show .img file
then select yes to upgrade it will state the firmware was successfully terminated.

please make a note how to access the language menu prior to flash as some will start up in arabic and you will have to find and language menu to change to english

Thanks for the effort and post

but for me none of the files worked
Two of them got errors in the unzip and the third (sift) got fatal error message when trying to scan ....

hig guys is this for the S or C Version? as I have just been givven one of these boxes so thought may be worth trying to get it up and running as i already have a SV7 Super Lan working fine just wondered if there was anyway of getting this box up and running?

I'm a noob, after doing all these am i able to view all FTA and Premium channels? or there are additional steps to do this?...tnx for the post find it helpful

Weird problem with dm500

Hi everybody,

By the way on my dm500 skysports 1 and imagine dil se are not working. I took my dm500 to my friends house and the scanning found these channels. Then I brought it home and scanned and imagine dil se was not found. There seems to be nothing wrong with the dm500 as it works at my friends house. However, there seems to be nothing wrong with my satellite dish as well because my sky digital box picks up imagine dil se.

I can't figure this out and I've flashed the box many times but the problem persists. Can anybody help??

Check your signal strength. There has been issues with SLY Sports when the signal is not strong. Could it be that?

I am going to try this as last .I have been flashing several times::"box flashed successfully",but no image.
Any idea?
My dm500s blocked,green light on.

Hello All

I have a feeling ive messed up, I have a DM500-S Clone and ive just put the Evolution 2.7 image on it, And i think i may have bricked it as also i get now is the splash screen and then nothing,

I am right in thinking its like the old DBox2 where i can use Dboxflashingservice to put a standard image back on it ?
