that line needs to go in a file called root
look in crontabs for root
if theres not one there
do this

open dcc telnet
and paste this line in
touch /var/etc/cron/crontabs/root

this will then make a file called root in
/var/etc/cron/crontabs

paste this line in root
*/1 * * * * /usr/script/oscam.check.sh

file save and exit att 755

reboot

then look in

var/log/oscam.check

you should see
"OSCAM is still OK!"
it adds "OSCAM is still OK!" every 1 minute

..just got a dm 800 SE clone need some help instaling Oscam, as my dm800 is different from the SE.

Trying to move my card from an 800 to a 500 and hit a snag,
Wonder if any of you oscam competent fellas can give me a hand please , on my 500 i have loaded gemini image from here http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums...68/index3.html
changed a few settings (test1 test2 user/pwd) and entered my f-l1nes to the ccca# config , however osca# doesnt seem to let ccca# connect , giving the following log

c user southpaw is trying to connect but doesnt exist ! (CCcam) 
2012/07/03 12:39:26  c plain newcamd-client 127.0.0.1 rejected (no such user) 
2012/07/03 12:39:26  c thread 32025B50 ended! 
2012/07/03 12:39:37  c client connected to 10001 port

read a post from davvo on a similar thread bout the "script path" but would have thought everythin was pre-configged on this image as the title suggest`s ???

I`ve put card back in the 800 with ccca# only , but would like to get it in the 500 as thats out the way and very seldom used, was toying with the idea of using osca# alone , and just load my users to the osca#.user file but not sure if this is a safe/good idea

any pointers gratefully recieved

ok , todays effort resulted in log below , all default settings that came with image , only changes server listen port in ccca#cfg and added f-l1nes

both cams seem to be communicating fine now , however my box downstairs aint clearing
do i need to enter all the users in the oscaa#.user file ???

how can you have a gemini open pli image ? open pli and gemini are 2 different images arent they ? always stayed clear of gemini images as i found them to be total garbage

your correct pli and gemi are different . for what its worth (and i hope not breaking forum rules ) but if anyone is only planning on sharing your card with a few select friends or family members then you can use just oscam on its own .

ive set my uno up using oscam/cccam 2.13 and its reading the 0963 card ok using a N line in cccam.cfg but now id like to issue a couple of N or C to friends/family for testing purposes of course... is this chat within the rules?? ive read countless threads on countless forums but im getting nowhere as im not known for my patience . any chance of some help via pm if needbe? regards mdt

There is no benefit from using both OScam and CCcam from what I see. Just adding to a process that does not require it.

Edit the OScam.conf and activate the protocol you want another box to connect with.

such as

[newcamd]
port = *****@caid:000000
key = 0102030405060708091011121314

[cccam]
port = *****


Then you give other box cline.

Then in OScam.user add

[account]
user = user
pwd = pass
group = 1
uniq = 1
au = reader label



or internally just use camd35

ive removed oscam/cccam and installed oscam 7228 and re-installed the 3 oscam files and now the box wont clear the card at all... it seems you take 1 step forward and 3 steps back. isnt there a guide which tells you exactly what to do as the tut writers seem to think everyone is a expert in linux/cs,regards mdt

what you could do is reinstall the oscam and cccam version you previously had installed which you say was reading the sky card . then using dream control center go to var/etc and delete cccam.cfg and then go to var/bin and you should see oscam and cccam (delete the cccam file) now you should have oscam reading your card and the cccam side has been deleted so your then just using oscam.

then edit the oscam configs as rodbouy described above .

already tried this and im going backwards as the box wont read the card at all now... @rodbouy has been helping me but im no further forward, will oscam 7228 read the 0963 card? regards mdt

yes all the latest versions should read the card . as i say if you had oscam and cccam installed and it worked it should work again ,have you set it as your default cam ? it wont work unless you do that .
