Dreambox DM800 record?

Hey guys, i managed to get my USB showing up on my DM800 box, but how do i record on it? i tried looking on this forum, nothing here

You've got to set the recording paths

you need to initialise the hdd ( format it).

go in the setup menu then system then harddisk.

once you have initialised it you will be able to record on it.

there is no harddisk in system :S

looks like its not finding your harddisk.

try the blue button menu and see if you can find the harddisk that way.

i would suggest getting a hdd and sticking it in the box. (internal) not expensive really.

i haven't tried usb way.

also sometime images have problems finding hdd and may need a reflash

Yeah, blue button, device manager can see the USB.

Image is blackhole i think. thats what comes up when i boot up the device.

Hey,

Menu, system , Harddisk this will give you option to initialize and format the drive. Once this is done just press red button to record or set timer from EPG. I had this problem last week and that is how I sorted it.

2x blue button, device manager
format yellow button
reboot box
mountpoints red button
press right on remote till you see media/hdd
save
reboot box
ftp a file named movie to media/hdd

for my 500gb hard drive

2x blue button, device manager
mountpoints red button
press right on remote till you see media/hdd
save
reboot box
ftp the 2 lines below to var/ect/fstab
reboot box
Menu, system , Harddisk initialize

Hello Nuke, when i press there is no system :S

There is only Subtitles, media Player, Timer, Information, Plugins, Setup and Nabilosat Shutdown. I can go into Setup, then system, but there is no option to initialize.

I had done all that before, but what do you mean by ftp a file named movie to media/hdd?

if theres not a movie folder in media/hdd it wont work
ftp send a file from your pc to your dreambox
you can use dreambox control center to ftp

i've never used DCC ... i've just downloaded it, what do i do with it?

EDIT: I managed to FTP the folder across, what do i do now? i'm totally lost
