Dreambox DM800 record?

I've got to the stage where i have mounted it ... but i dont get what i do after.

I Have FTP'd a file name movie, and recorded, but it only gave me about half an hour on a 1GB stick. That don't sound right :S

I got a 16 giga in me itgate 220
It gives me just short of 8 hours recording
1 gig sticks neither me arse nor me elbow ,i can remember that much in me head LOL
Can get a 16 giga for under a tenner ,links posted on here somewere

I'll get an internal one sometime soon, this USB is just a temp one till i get time to sort the internal one out tbh.

Just to figure out what else the box will do . I dont have a clue what else it is capable of doing.

EDIT: will a 500GB 2.5' internal HDD work fine, making sure it's sata obviously?

yes, it will work fine mate and def beats a gb

it's dead simple to install it as well.....just plugging it in the slot.

when you do put it in, make sure the wires are away from the fan.

Sorry quick one, what did you mean when you said ftp the 2 lines below to var/ect/fstab?

How would i do that?

I initialized it ... and it worked ... WOO haha ... but i still don't get it when you say ftp the 2 lines ... do i make a folder like before? or do i put them 2 lines into a file or what?

ftp the 2 lines to var/ect/fstab

fstab is a file you open it and paste the 2 lines
in at the bottom save and exit

but as you initialized with no errors you dont need to
