    2 dm800's taken buy customs

Just want to let u all know that I just tried to ship 2 dm800's from a well known source in HK. DHL tracking told me that I needed to contact them, they told me that uk border agency have got my parcel and they will let me know what has happend.
This was over 2 weeks ago
today I got a letter from Dream Property GmbH solicitors, yes u are reading correct, basically they are saying that I'm trying to import dodgy boxes and Is a trademark infringement, they want my consent to destroy the boxes or if I object to the destruction of the goods the letter reads " our client will initiate court action against you and seek an injunction to restrain your importation of the goods and an order for the destruction of the goods, as well as a claim for damages and costs"
I think I better let this one go, what u think?
Customs have opened up the box and then they checked all the serials contacted dream, damn they know what there searching for.
I think it's time for our friends in HK to start making just plain boxes with no branding, change the front panel and packaging to be plain.
Any way I'm a couple of hundred out of pocket but let's hope they can sort out some compo, fingers crossed

How do you think companies like UkDreambox buy their boxes in bulk?
Seems strange that they hold 2 Dms when others are shipping crate load of dms in the country.
Not saying what you say is the truth but why pick on the small guy and not the guys buying thousands.

    Andy.

yep clones either get stopped by customs which is quite a common problem or end up in the bin due to thier faulty hardware etc..either way they are'nt worth the bother .

Why would it be fantastic news that someone loses hundreds of pounds. Why are you a shareholder in dreambox or someone who hates the fact that clone boxes behave just like your ?400 purchase at a fraction of the price. They may not last as long but can afford to replace after a year to something else.Genuine dreamboxes are very much overpriced there are far better boxes for less.

From what i read most boxes are clones and work flawlessly so guess cant be labelled as dodgy.... My mate has bought an original and he seems to have just the same problems as other users, but then again we both noobs at this

Nothing wrong with dm800 clones with m tuner proves a ?400 can be cloned at a fraction of the price. And shows the profits dreambox make on everyone that buys original they need it for there expensive legal lawyers.

Maybe if companies like DreamMultimedia didnt have such extravagant prices attached to their boxes, then the need for clones would not be as high.

Some people don't like to admit that someone has had their pants down and had their arse slapped for the tune of ?400!

who says i paid ?400 for any receiver ?. i got my Vu+Uno for nothing as a beta tester. as for dreamboxes i would not waste my money on one as there far to over priced. especially when compared to boxes such as the Vu+ or the ET/XT500/9000 boxes.

When was the last time you seen a clone and why does it bother you so much?

Are they cutting into your business?

                          Spot on Rodders.

But I'd still go for a VU+ box even if DM did have decent prices.
