Dm800SE Tuner failed!

Hi guys,

Update 1:

Finally received my DM800SE from Tony (yaoxin), and after attempting the ICVS Image and DreamElite image i am getting Tuner failed using both images on all HD Channels.

Now from the look of things, it might be worth waiting prior to ordering, seems the tuners are not as stable as i had hoped.

If there are any recommendations in terms of a fix or what can be tried or if you have ordered from yaoxin and its working please let me know?

Manual Scan did the Trick!

Tuner Failed issue is Gone! And All HD Channels are working solid now!!!

So if you are having the same issue then thanks to alom5 simply run a manual scan and good luck

Nope buddy, is there a need for that? And where do the figures go and where can i get my long and lat from, was using the Dm800 PRo before which was flawless and no lang and lat had been entered

there has to be a tuner setting menu and the settings go in there . not sure where with your image , u might have to google that bit .. u get your long and lat from dishpointer

hmmm never had to do that before bro, although i got my long and lat there seems to be no such configuration on the image :s., other then that my guess is Tuner might be faulty or no good?

P.S Am not using a motor but a static Dish and as such for some reason it asks for a diseqc to do positioner setup :s

on dream elite its menu, setup, service searching, tuner configuration then click on your tuner config mode is set to simple mode is positioner then enter your lat long in the next options that show up.

Yep as mentioned above....youll have to setup your tuner first.
Choose simple setup with one lnb.no diseq and choose 28.2E for your sat.
Youll see you SNR and AGC bars green and youll have your tuner configured.
You should have followed the wizards guide at the initial boot up

you wont need to put long and lat if its a fixed dish mate.

configure the tuner and have it set to simple. delete all the other sats except 28.2e.

run a scan and you should have all the channels working. if the other channels work and hd dosen't...........then i'm afraid there could be something wrong.

Yeah all other channels are working and its a fixed dish no Motor, No Diseqc and so on...

All Channels are working but HD. All HD channels seem to give the Tuner Failed message.

Hmmm might have to replace the Tuner i guess any ideas?

i also thought as the 800hd has no problems and this is an advancement.....we should be ok.

Hi buddy,

receiver is Brand New. Had 3 DM 800 Pro's before all working flawless no issues whatsoever.

Seller is yaoxin (known to be good with the receiver quality they sell).

Well from the look of things the tuner in here compared to the DM800 Pro are totally different, so hmm problem could be in the tuner or receiver itself.

Not sure what to do....

i read somewhere, where the dm800 had probs with hd..............leaving the tuner on for a while till it warmed up sorted the prob out.

no..........i'm serious.....it aparantley works like that.

you could leave it on for a while and see if that works.

get onto the supplier mate.................don't need this with a spanking new piece of kit.

did you do a full scan or are you just loading channels list.
