Most use usals mate but a few on here use diseqc 1.2 with no problems mate, i think Rodbuoy uses diseqc 1.2

thanks for reply.the only reason i use diseqc this sounds really stupid is that the pole the dish is on is also one end of a clothes line and if theres a heavy wasn the pole bends slightly.using diseqc i can adjust this easily.

You could try usals it aint hard and just tweak your long and lat but both work fine.

Your going to have bigger problems on windy days. You should invest in a sturdier wall bracket.

It does seem daft. It would be cheaper to put another pole in the ground.

The Dm500 should have worked fine mate, usals are a hit and a miss on the 500 tho. Must have been a faulty power supply.

The 800 will work fine on diseqc 1.2 Its my preferred choice. Usals fine too, its just down to what you feel works best for your setup.

I would agree to get a better mount if possible. If its mounted correctly it will save you having to tweak.

I installed my own dish with some help from my mate and some reading and since I installed it over 2 1/2 years ago, I have never had to go near it.

All I do, Is goto tuner config, Set it to advanced.

Pic the sat I was furthest east to start. Mine being 28.2

                    Set Diesqc mode to 1.2

Scroll down till you see use usals and set to no.

                    Store Pos to sat 1

Save then come out go to sat positioner.

                    Press red to tune

Pick a pre defined TP from the list or add your own.

Now pick positioner movement Green to search west (i moved the dish as far east to start)

Get the desired lock and store to the number you set above.

Now repeat this for the sats you wants

                    Ie I have

                    1) 28.2
                    2) 23.5
                    3) 19.2
                    4) 16
                    5) 13
                    6) 9

Suppose you just find a way that works then you stick with it.

It was more trickery to use going from the 500 to the 800 to start with, but easy once you get the hang of it.

Usals on the spider was even ok but still had to fine tune it.

Just remember when you have found the sat and locked, you save it at bottom and enter the correct sat number you assigned in the tuner config page.

I kept making that mistake and over writing sat 1.

Nearly chucked it off a wall

Think thats where i was going wrong so you have to put the stored number in the tuner config page for each sat then?
                          Not just positioner set up?

                          Andy.
