    Unknown Password

Hi new member, can anyone help me?
I bought a dream 800 hd box last year from Topbox.biz plug and play. Alas they seem to have gone Ti*s up. I can not log in to my box as the password must have been changed. I have looked at all the forums and they tell me to download tuxbox commander to reset the password. My box is running Blackhole Enigma2 and i can not access the blue panel as i can not find this in the main menu to download any programs. Can anyone tell me how this is done? Cheers

reflash will reset the password mate.

        easy way......
turn off power from mains.......hold power button down on box and plug power lead into box....keeping hold of box power....until it displays stop on the screen and will give you ip address.

type in your box ip into your web browser....click on firmware upgrade choose the image you want to fash and restart box once flash is complete.

you will need to send bouqets and other stuff across ...but at least you will have acces to be able to do that.

the username will be root and password will be dreambox

Don't forget that re-flashing will overwrite everything on the box including the Topbox CLine

is your blue panel locked out by a pin or can you simply not find the addons section ?

Had a similar problem with box from Topboxes. Needed to get access to insert new c/line. Found this tut which allowed me access and got box up and running again:-

You can reset your dreambox password using dreambox remote:

1.install tuxbox commander using addons button
                2. Start tuxboxcomander
3.go to in /var/etc/ and open the file passwd
4.press 4 on remote to go into edit mode.
                The first line is root:*****:0:0:root:/home/root:/bin/sh
where the ****** delete it (by using remote arrows to move cursor right and then pressing volume minus)
                delete *** until upto :0:0:root

and press ok and exit -> save

the first line should look like this after the edit

                root::0:0:root:/home/root:/bin/sh

then login with user root and password leave empty

you could telnet and change the empty password with your own so no-one can easily hack into your dm box.

As I said, I had similar problem. Great help from these guys on this site sorted me out. Did take a lot of reading up though.

I'm running same image as yourself and eventually got it up and running.

It was a while ago and memory not that good, but here goes:-

                        - Go into main menu
                        - 5 - plugins
                        - Green button, download plugins
                        - once downloaded, go into system plugins
                        - look for tuxcom and download
                        - green button and you should see tuxcom
                        - open tuxcom
                        - go to in /var/etc/ and open the file passwd
                        - press 4 on remote to go into edit mode.
                        - The first line is root:*****:0:0:root:/home/root:/bin/sh

                        - where the ***** is, delete it (by using remote arrows to move cursor right and then pressing volume minus)
                        delete ***** until upto :0:0:root

and press ok and exit -> save

the first line should look like this after the edit

                        root::0:0:root:/home/root:/bin/sh

then login via ftp with your ip address, ie (ftp://192.168.x.xx). Username is root, password leave empty.

That's you got access now to your box. Click on var and enter. Then click on etc and enter. You should now see the ccam.config file. You now just edit it and put in your new c:line and save it. Re-boot your box and all should be well.

                          techo 500 from topboxes

                          Hello,

I ve got a TM 500 from the same source. Does the help/signpost given here apply to the TM box or is it specific for DM's only. Need access to the password protected place and copy what's there and replace with new.

                          cheers
