Box crashes after EPG download.

Hi All.
I'm using nabilosat blackhole v0.12 image. I know its old but for my DM800HD clone it seems the most stable,smooth and reliable except for one thing....
Every now and again (mostly weekends though, which maybe just coincidence) the box crashes after downloading the EPG. I have tried both Satmate uk and Rytek uk and it happens with both. Its not all the time but quite annoying all the same.
I've tried installing ts panel to enable me to use cross epg but ts panel wont install.
Does anybody else have any suggestions?

Where are you saving the epg. Make sure its on a usb stick or externall hdd and not the internal flash as it will use up the flash memory causing the box to crash.

Ive actually tried using both USB and the HDD but with the same results.
Was kind of hoping I could use cross epg to see if this is any better but not sure if I can get it on this image.

Unfortunately,I'm stuck on an old bootloader (70) and my box doesnt like any of the newer images (believe me,I've had a few headaches trying).
It seems the only way round it is to try and install cross epg manually.

You can give this one a go, I was told by perisian prince that this version was compiled for perisian empire, but will work on any mipsel STB.
I haven't tried it because I now use EPGimport which works perfect for me using PLI.

Thanks mate, I'm not sure what "any mipsel STB" means but I'll give it a whirl
I've left it untill now cos I'm a bit worried about bricking my box (again).
Rytec seems the best up to now but crashes on download every single sunday. Thing is,I only get the option to auto download every day and no option to miss sunday (I have no idea why its just sunday by the way).
Also rytec sometimes doesnt provide show info on the right of the screen when browsing bouquets.
I just need a good,stable, hassle free EPG downlader so I'll give the one above a wirl and report back.

No such luck. It just wouldnt install at all so obviously not compatable.

I tried FTP ing a version of ts panel to my box but again,I think that was also incompatable as it wouldnt install.
I have gone to plug in downloads but TS panel aint there so manual install needed.Ive tried searching for a version of ts panel but being the noob that I am,I dont know which others to try without doing damage.
Can I actually brick my box trying to install incompatable plugins or would they simply just not work?

I don't think they are incompatible, how are you trying to install them. You can install using ftp into tmp folder or copy them to you usb stick, then install through software manager.
When you try to install do you get any on screen message?

Yeah,I cant remember what the messages said though.
After having a ggood look round,I came across this...
