Dreambox 800hd G Tuner

Has anyone tried one of these and how does it compare to the M801a tuner.

me too got one on order, also seems same price as rev m tuner ? whats the reason for releasing this ? must be cheaper to make ?

This is why I've not bought one yet.Same price as M tuner delivered from mixishop.
Tempted to get the M tuner its not like there are bad reviews about them.

will give it a test see how it runs, see what signal it gets and also see how hot it is compared to rev m

I've bit the bullet and ordered one with the new G tuner.
Yaoxin say it's meant to be better than the M tuner and gives a stronger signal so will report back.
Will probably stick to the Dream Elite image.

Not a good start put Dream Elite on new box with G tuner and have Tuner A Empty,tried countless images and checked tuner and still nothing.

Have tried installing new driver and nothing.
Any help appreciated guys.

I have two of these boxes up and running both rev.G tuners from mixeshop.

The supplied image was nemesis 2.4 which I changed to dreamelite v3 (no problems with the tuner on these images)

Tried the Dream-Elite-BlackHole-DM800-2012-06-16-Sim2-SSL-84b image and had the same problem as andy91 with no tuner.

This Rev.G is a broadcom based tuner so guess it's just a matter of loading the driver on certain images ?

Other than that I pretty happy with the box, no glitching and it doesn't get too hot

should be getting mine today, you say doesnt get too hot which sounds promising, the rev m tuner can get quite hot

First dm800's I've owned so can't compare them to the Rev.M tuner.

However judging by the reports I've read and comparing to the boxes I have they do get warm but certainly not what I consider hot.

Quick update i got nemisis to work and dream elite 3.0 but as soon as i loaded bouquets all was fine for a mminute thn the light on both the box and the psu started to flash and guess what empty tuner again. Could smell something like tcp so Im guessing something has blown.
Think Im going to send it back not happy.

i recieved dm800hd with rev g tuner, doing a quick check i notice the motherboard says rev g on it as well, i usually use dbuk 2.1.2 image and it works fine, also signal on bbc hd is 100% like rev m tuner got, aint had time to test properly yet, will get back also if it gets hot like the rev m tuner

i know i keep saying this but why do people keep buying from yoaxcin/mixeshop? there are countless complaints all over the web about their qc and returns/customer service... when will people learn these thieves cant be trusted!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! regards mdt

They are cheap mate I paid 185 + 7.50(import duty) for two boxes.

I know you take your chances buying from cn/hk but so far so good.

its BCM4505 , been running it for a day now , no issues at all so far and seems it does run cooler then rev m tuner, the signal seems to be higher as well, but would need to check that again on different channel when using rev m tuner and same weather conditions to be sure
