China is cheapest. If you know someone who wants to order another box add one to the order other than that Ebay is a good source, Andy

              will do mate.

i will post up the results of the up to date openpli image that im going to flash his box with.

one thing i need to double check actually is if it has an updated bootloader with it. if not thats the next thing i need to encounter.

but fingers crossed i can get his box back up and running.

Only problem I found with the newer Dreambox 800hd they come with G motherboards and you get Tuner Empty A with certain images like Dreamelite Phoenix Edition even if M tuners are present , other than that they are similar to the M 801a tuners. Don't buy the M401a tuner load of rubbish. Andy.

I flashed that image just on its own without the bootloader.
You don't always need to flash bootloader first.

                      Andy.

Andy, i tried to flash with thew old bootloader and the box would not have any of it.

iv flashed the new boot loader and that went through fine.
i have just flashed doods 31-3-13 image

its all working but one thing i have found is the box on boot up reboots 2-3 times before it goes through.
to me thats wierd but maybe thats normal?
Can anyone shed any light on this?

well yours and southpaw's and everyone elses expertise have helped me. so thank you all very much.

hopefully someone can come back with some info about the above.

Personally i would flash again just the image.
Should only load up the once but with linux boxes you get problems that's
                          half the fun.
Im not a massive fan of this image but doods has added a few good plugins like icefilms and 1channel.
Theres lots of images out there to have a play with.

                          Andy.

i never really got into the whole world of plugins, so never really paid much attention.

i have reflashed and now the box is on its 8th reboot. hmmmm
like i have said previously i have never really been a fan of the openpli image but doods has made it look good!
im going to keep plugging away at it and see what i can accomplish.

What do you mean by 8th reboot?
                              Is the box constantly rebooting?

                                yeah constantly rebooting.

i have had it working, the box froze. left it for 5 mins was still on the same picture. was getting sound tho.
so had to reboot then it would not switch on.

i have reflashed 5 times now and still wont boot.
im gonna need a stiff drink for this hahaha
