had the mini vu duo running for over a week with 500gb installed , timeshift enabled etc set recordings, not a single issue,

tried latest blackhole 2.0.8.1 flashed fine didn't go much further as i prefer vix 3.0, it takes official vix 3.0 build 808, only weakness would be the fan noise, as it spins quite fast cant hear it really once tv is on and it turns off in standby , it does run very cool

the fan is a 4 pin , but dont think duo had fan control anyway, if anyone know there is fan plugin ? , can always get a higher quality silent 60mm x 60mm fan , price for a dual tuner and images it takes would so its great so far

same here, contacted mixeshop and they said, its still in HK checked by customs and should be on its way soon.

Received mine this week along with a solo2
Had to pay small import duty to DHL online (only ?12)

Fitted the HD that i also bought no problem build quality is nice
Display sucks tho just a on/off light no LED display
Flashing was like Lombard said bit scary as no indication to show its completed so just left it 10mins

Did come with nice OpenPLI 4.0 image i was tempted to keep but wanted to try some others, loaded latest BlackHole 2.0.8 ok
Will try the OpenVix tomorrow

Also yes the fan is slightly noisy but im pretty sure there is a fan control option in Openvix that should reduce the power to the fan

i tried openpli 4.0 latest and installed fan control , says no hardware support, so i doubt it , because this is based on Vu Duo, that didnt have fan control just turned off in standby if anyone can find out if its possible will be great , no big deal it turns off in standby anyway

im very impressed with this box, like the fact no led is on when in standby as in night can be distracting and also when on its only low light yellow led on, yes there is no led display but look at the price of this, mines been running perfect no issues over a week now, set recordings etc using latest vix 3.0 which i find epg layout great, for a clone this is quality

At this moment in time, yes all legit duo images should work. Although I have heard that Vu solo 2 clones are not taking the very latest VIX image

Thats correct my Solo2 does not work with latest Vix i get H/W error when trying to flash
I did manage to get one from 1st Nov to work
Lombard advised me Openvix 3.0 build 802 works

Must admit the fan noise is starting to irritate me, no hardware support in any images it seems for the duo
I was looking at one of those 3 pin PC fan controllers on eaby so i can manually turn it down but i dont want it to short out anything
What would happen if i just disconnect it?

latest openvix 3.0 build 808 flashes fine, if its booting to older image, then it aint flashing , as it will at least flash and if it doesnt work box wont boot, as yours boots up to old image the newer image aint even being flashed , try it again and use different usb stick

the fan noise is noticeable but aint that bad when watching tv and it does turn off in standby , i dont recommend removing it, if you leave box on standby , try feeling the top and it gets pretty warm , just buy a slower spinning 60mmx60mm by 15mm or 20mm should be fine, or get a resistor which will slower fan
