    Dream DM800S clone, ?168 Delivered

    Taken from a different forum

    Hi guys,

Just thought I would let you all know about my experience buying a DM800S direct from the manufacturer in China. I ordered 2x Dream DM800HD (Sat version) with bootloader72 and Gemini 4.4 installed for $530 (?168 each!!!). The boxes come with an internal heatsink and fan, and utilise an Alps tuner. I also paid by PayPal (not gift, so I had some protection).

The boxes have arrived by DHL in just 3 days (tracking number supplied). He marked the parcel as a Birthday present with a $50 value, so no VAT or import taxes ;-)

This is the guy I emailed/dealt with:
    Tony Zhou,

And when I paid, he wanted me to PayPal to this address:

The person that posted this is a stand up guy so i know he aint bullcrapping

I have been following a thread on one of the other forum and there were lots of people having problems with their tuners especially on S*y HD channels. Let us know how get on with your boxes.

It would be nice to see a proper review of these receivers. Also can you get a cable tuner added? and is/are the tuner/s plug and play?
Lose your memory sticks? Forget to backup? Why not get 2GB of free space online, and I get 250MB too

I do know you can buy them as cable units, but it would be nice if you could get a plug and play receiver where you can add a cable tuner as well(future proofing )

Personally i'd rather pay extra & buy them from from a seller in the uk such as linuxsat, least if u have an issue they're in the uk and have a shop.

Ive been looking and I believe the person you're talking about is ruddyrum? If so, hes on about ordering a "sample" unit and the price is an awkward ?168 because the currency of business is in USD

People are having problems with dreambox clones from china. Sky uk, sky italia and sky germany HD channels freeze constantly all the time. It all points to weak tuners

Maybe in the future we will get some stronger tuners?
