here is how i fixed , bit vague as from memory ,

    1 , null cable pc to dm800
2 , ethernet cable from router to dm800
    3 , open dreamup , press connect
    4 , put power to dm800 ,
(try both ways , with "network use" and without)
5, on mine , dreamup loaded somethin , no error popups , and dm800 screen changed to http mode with addy
6 , load new image with browser using addy from display ,
Are you using a proper com port connection or one of those usb adapters , as i know these adapters to be troublesome

      ok. I give up.
I did it exactly like you described. In Dreamup I case see something like 'probing IP'. Nothing happens.
Both LAN LED's on the box are permanently on. Maybe the ethernet connection doesn't work anymore.

bad, pretty bad... Olympic games and no HD

        hi

        what you have to do
        1-run dreamup , connect DM800 with cable
2- under dreamop select network and in the remote ip (box) put the ip you want for your box
3-now switch on the dreambox, dreamup will prepared the box for flash
        when ready for flash
4 take the remote ip (box) then follow the procedure through the web now
        192,168.xxxx.xxx
will get to the upgrade firmware page

This will force the box on bootloader mode

        I hope this will help

are you 100% sure the cable is a nullmoden cable as other cables look the same but are wired diffancely

Yes. It is a Nullmodemcable. I used it for several 500s. I believe there is something wrong with the LAN adapter. As I wrote before.. both LEDs are permanently on and I can't see any network traffic.

Even if I insert an IP in dreamup it cannot be found. A ping gives no reply.

              try this

To explain all qestion about file to big!!

              1. switch on enforcer press enable
              2. Run dream up and press connection
              3. Switch on dm800 (should send now BL to box)
              4. If dreamup succesfully send BL to box (doing this automaticly when you plug in power cable to box)
              5. shout down dream up and enforcer
              6. shout down box, switch on dream up (just dream up! press connection)
              7. switch on box
              8. now when everything goes ok, you are able again to flash box

              *special DreamUp & enforcer:

              *ttp://rapidshare.com/files/289346941/2nd_stage_pack.rar

              or this

-plug the power and keep pressing the power boton till the box gets and IP and writes STOP

dont give up mate , others have had this issue and managed to recover

or have a read of this thread

sorry , just seen your post at bottom

                try this
the error is actually saying that the loader cann't detect a security chip - do a prayer and open the box and check if you have one (should be glued to a small SIM card reader).
If everything looks OK, try pressing the CA chip softly into the reader - maybe it just went lose

How long does it take to transfer the BL to the box. I can see in this enforcer window the blue/red bar going back and forth. what does this mean? is something transfered?

I checked the SIM and there is a kind of a 'bubble' on top of the SIM. Opened it. Cleaned it. Does is make sense to insert a SIM from another box?

why , do you have another working dm800 ?

if so , have you tried 1st method of fix

                      Now for the first sollution.
                      1) Connect working dreambox DM600/DM800.
                      2) Open dreamup, press connect.
                      3) When dreambox is found by dreamup, insert Null-Modem cable in
                      the broken dreambox.
                      4) Press flash button, and chose a firmware.
                      5) The flash progress will probably hang, its OK.
                      6) Open dreamup again, connect the broken box, press connect.
                      7) If all went ok, you can now flash box again, (Use only serial
                      communication)

Thanks. Do you think this will work?
how about the LAN LED's? Did you see any traffic? The LEDs are always on.

Ok. I connected the 2nd DM800 and startet DreamUp. Box was found by Dreamup, BL uploaded. Disconnected new box, connected broken 800er.

Display switched from error message to dhcp and a IP is now shown. Selected Image and since almost 5 min DreamUp says 'Calculating checksum'.

How long does it usually take?

This problem is due to miscontact in the sim card under the tuner , when i press on it the dm800 starts normally.
