best image

have just got my dm 800s cl, bl 75 sim 2.01 its got gemini 4.60 on already,
but was wondering is there a more stable image or is that ok?
have a 500 at the mo, with a pli jade image on, which i kinda like.
read a few threads, and 4.70 gemini, gets a bit of a thumbs up, for the hd channels.
i have a 1.0 mtr dish,
do it now before i set up everything,
so do i stick or change,

gemini 4.70 is good and more stable if you use a smaller dish, with a big dish you prob not have to worrie and nabilosat 0.12 is best for EPG downloading etc.

also make sure you flash the correct images from here..

Yes it does,just go to the add ons manager,then Enigma 2 settings then d/l the updated EPG provider config list V3 then it shows up on the EPG lists you can d/l

presume gemini image not good for epg?

never d/l epg, on to a box.
never bothered with my 500, but would like to with the 800 hd, is it easy to do?

but dish is 100 foot away in back garden
struggles a bit on hd s*y channels, snr about 65%.
ok on itv1 hd etc, snr up to 80s,
was thinking of putting a in-line amplifier on, would that help?

also epg help, i know gem 4.7 isnt the best for it, but how do i get it, d/l it?? or something else?

You could try it but sometimes it won't fix it but for only ?3 your not losing much if it didn't work.

If you can't get an Astra2 signal from a 1m dish in the UK, then there's something wrong with your setup...

The fact you've got 100ft of cable is of no significant importance as long as you've used high quality double screened cable and your LNB isn't ~~~~ed...

Using an inline amp is more than likely to introduce more noise..
