Thankyou, it makes it so much easier to understand when you can see pictures.

Is it normal for the componets on the tuner to touch the heat sink on the cpu (clone box not original). I think that is why one of the cap has dropped of my board. I have a Rev J board.

Mine dosnt touch as far as I know, there is a foam block supporting it as well.

I also have the foam block but the heat sink just slightly touches one of the caps, well it did until I removed the tuner cos it wasn't sitting right.
Now it come off, to top it all off my soldering iron has died.

Guess it's down to maplins to purchase a new one.

I have the same prob with an original rev.K tuner, is it fixed with the exchange of the 1000u cap, also for originals?

Hi Champ , welcome to the forum btw , removing C1 cap , and soldering 1000 uf 16v as per pic , cured my tuner , rev k

I have the same issue with my dm800 clone from chine, when i change to DVB-S2 i get 0 channels. Any idea how to fix tuner?

you would have to remove the tuner from dm , rev is printed on the underside , j or k ,

i used these caps too replace
16V 1000uF 105?C electrolytic radial Capacitor X 5pcs on eBay (end time 05-May-10 13:01:06 BST)
