Flashing Error

I've been having a problem lately with my DM800 clone. For the past few days the screen on the tv goes blank for no apparent reason and i have to go through the connections and put it back to HDMI 3.The box itself seems ok so i thought it might be a problem with the tv. I tried all 3 HDMI ports and it was the same. It started getting worse today, going off every 30 mins or so. So i thought it may be a problem with the DVI cable or maybe the image.

I thought i'd narrow it down and start off with a different image. This is where my trouble really started. When i flashed the new image onto the box, i got the dreaded error CA not found.
I tried reflashing with Dreamup but Dreamup wouldn't recognise the box. I tried different versions of Dreamup with the same result.

I found a patched version of Dreamup and followed the instructions in this thread http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums...a-error-70341/ and used the Enforcer programme.I don't get any error messages about the 2nd stage bootloader, in fact i don't get anything at all. When i click on the flash button i have to drop down from Dreambox images to Dreambox NAND images to find the clone images. When i click an image i get an error message saying file too big.
Any ideas ?

Hi bulldog

Please use patched version i uploaded

1. connect via serial and Ethernet to router and pc..

2. load patched version of dreamup, click connect and power on dm800

3. when initialised it will display http serial mode on lcd ans show dhcp ip once ip is displayed dreamup as served its purpose and now its in flashmode

4. log into webshell on pc and flash as normal

you don't need any other files just follow these steps and its fixed m8

Thanks for your repy Bubbles it's much appreciated m8. I wont have time to try it right now but will do ASAP. Just to say, i did try loading patched dreamup and the lcd remained the same... CA not found

Follow my guide make sure null modem cable and ethernet cable pluged into pc and router and you wont go wrong m8..!

Ok m8 no luck here. I have the null modem from pc to box and the ethernet from router to box. I run the patched version of Dreamup, it asks me to connect the box.
Instead of an error on the LCD it just says Dream Multimedia.
Dreamup continues.... uploading flash loader... upload complete, waiting for acknowledgement.... and just hangs like that.

If i try and run the 2nd stage loader fix, i get the file too big message. I've tried different versions of patched Dreamup and it's the same. At least with this version it's seeing the box and saying it's uploading the flash loader, but thats about it.

do you know the ip of the box try puting this in your webrowser

No m8 i've already tried that, and rebooting the box and holding the power button to see if that gives me the addy, after the waiting for acknowledgement, but no joy.

Sounds like the router is not given the box a ip address hence the reason for hanging try another Ethernet lead, you are doing everything correct its just the router is not givin teh box a ip for some reason

Heres an update, i've been messing with this all day and things are not looking good. Just checked the image i flashed which caused the box to give me the "error no ca found" and found it was an image for a Ferari sim. My sim is sim2.01 and bl 75.

I have tried every version of dream up i can get my hands on. Two different routers and four ethernet cables and i still get the same error on the lcd. On dream up i get "box type DM800 .... uploading flash loader... upload complete waiting acknowledge...and Dream multimedia on lcd
If i run the enforcer or 2nd stage pack i can choose the "flash" option, when i point to an image, Dreamup says "calculating checksum..."waiting for ok from box to begin upload" but just hangs and the lcd of the box stays the same. Could it be a the sim card is dead ? Or does anyone have any other ideas.

I had a bit of a scare when i flashed my dm800 with anewish version of the Open Pli image.I would forget the router and the network cable for now and just stick with the null modem cable and 2nd stage.I would go for one of the old sim 2.0.1 bl75 image and work with the 2nd stage pack. Try flashing the Nabilosat pure in the flash with the patched Dreamup. The enforcer didn't work for me but the rest did work though I have to say i can't really get Nabilo to work in the flash properly and have to use BA and Nabilosat Blackhole.

If router not giving ip use crossover cable and pc or laptop,

Still no joy, i'm going to try it on another pc tomorrow and hope it's a problem on the com port on the pc i'm using now.

If it was a com error dm800 would not be detected via patched dreamup. I just done a test on mine without Ethernet lead in it just hangs

Having almost same problem with mine dm 800.
Have tryed all that is mention above.

Have altso black display.
Masured power 12v ok, 5v ok.

Dream up is not recognising unit, having file to big. when trying to flash with forcer.
Mabye sim is gone?
