hd channels glitching

I thought id post here rather than a new thread......

DM800 pro with latest dream elite image......500gb hard drive and 2gb usb installed internally for epg.

Every thing works fine apart from the hd channels......

They work fine when im flicking through but glitch if i watch for any period of time.

Low ecm times 0.10 - 0.30 good signal and using a large communal satallite with in built amplification apparently...

Going to try ordering a inline amp and see if that helps.....

Box is wired into lan and not wireless...

connection is virgin 30mb 3mb up with nothing else on the system.

I blame the crappy super hub for a lot of things....

Dm800 pro glitching

My hd fta channels don't glitch but the non fta channels Do glitch and hit 0.7 ECM quite alot. Other people using the same line don't get much stuttering but I do. Wonder if it's the superhub from vermin?? Cud it be other electrical items causing interference?? Such as cordless phones, mobiles etc? Just guessing. Does it matter where the superhub is placed?
Any suggestions??

I've just purchased a DM800HD Pro too, I also am having problems receiving UK HD channels without glitching, switch to the normal channel & its fine. European HD channel's seem to come through fine, these are from 19.2deg east. I have a splitter feeding both my dreambox & sky + box from my sky minidish. Any info welcome. Thanks

Get a better server. That's the simple answer to your problem. If European and FTA channels are working then it's your server.

Hi Wayne Well that's something new mate "sky+" from 19.2e??? If you are using sky minidish what's your signal strength like? Have you TWO dishes (mini dish for 28e + fixed for 19.2e) or are you on motorised system? When you say "splitter" is that a multi output LNB or are you literally "splitting" the one feed cable and if so how?

If you have only have single lnb and you have split the feed, then that may well be your problem

Sorry I didn't explain myself properly. I do have two dishes, a mini dish for the UK SKY 28.2 plus a 80cm dish looking at Astra 19.2deg.
The mini dish has a quad LNB feeding both inputs into my SKY + box & the other is going into a SAT Switch 10W where I also have a single feed from my astra 19.2 dish then the output of the switch going to the Dreambox.
After looking through the forums and carrying out a few checks I have noticed that the freezing does not occur on non encrypted channels like ITV HD but when viewing SKY Sports HD for instance, freezing occurs every 10-15secs approx.
I have a the Gemini Image 07.21.2010 & have been looking into the ECM times & Hops as it displays it at the top of the screen when pressing the OK button on the remote. I've found that the freezing occurs when the ECM time is high & the HOPs are above 2. Anything above 0.8 seems to cause problems. This is also the case for some non HD channels.
I've come to the conclusion that MrFug could be right & this being down to my server, unless anyone else has any other views or ways to rectify this problem?

Bad server mate. Hops 2 is telling you he doesn't have a sky sub, just reshare rights from another server.

I had a recent problem with glitching but it was because of the shitty server i was on, now that i switched to another server I'm glitch free on all hd channels including espn HD.

I also recently installed a 500gb harddrive into my dreambox 800 hd, recorded minority report the other night and watched it today, not one single glitch.

I live in a communal block of flats, so have a communal dish.

I tried a server on hop 1 and it still glitched worse than a hop 2. However the hop 1 i'm on now is perfect. And yes hop 1 in general is so much more better.

sorry for bringing up an oldish thread but....anyone shed any light on an issue i have.

i have a vu+duo and works flawlessy, i decided today to put my dm800se in the bedroom as pointless being sat in a cupbaor. the ecms on the box are low but the box glitches during tv viewing. anyone able to shed on any light on the possible reasons why?

What channels is it particularly glitching on ?
FTA, encrypted, or both ?
HD, SD, or both ?

What image are you using, and also what bootloader ?
