2 DM800 with same ip adress, HELP

I have 2 DM800 in my house with 2 different C-lines, but with same IP adress. That means that I have to switch off one of them to watch TV. I have wireless connection, but how do I change the IP adress on receiver no 2. When I install my old DM500 instead of receiver no 2, both receiver works on same time. I wonder why both dm800 have the same ip adresse. I am not very technical, so you must help me step by step.

Go into network in setting and untick Dchp.
Assign a different ip address to the box so if the box says 192.168.2.2 make it 192.168.2.anything higher like 100.

Reboot the box and do a network test but remember the ip of the Dreambox should look like the routers ip barring the last 2 digits so any numbers in last digits but select a high number like 100 as this wont be used by any other internet appliance like laptops or ipods etc.
That should sort it but you can choose any ip address you like.
    Andy.

I can see this on my computer on my network configuration, so what IP adress will you suggest to write in receiver no 2

      IPv4 Standardgateway 192.168.1.1
      IPv4 DHCP-server 192.168.1.1
      IPv4 DNS Server 193.162.153.164
      194.239.134.83

        Is it a Linksys router??

If you have 192.168.1.1 change the last .1 to anything like .100 something high so it wont clash with other internet devices and have dncp set to NO!!

Save it and reboot,go back to settings network and do a network test.

Your nameserver should be also the same as default gateway(router)

I had a few minutes of 50% succes, where the both worked, but the receiver no 2 was freezing and unable to open some channels. Then I try to change IP adress on no2 receiver, but now it is not working. Both receiver works depending whick one will be started first. The receiver which starts last is then not working. I have swithced off the DHCP and when I make a networktest on both receiver it seems that the connection is ok, also when both receiver are on at the same time. But I am lost now, what can I do now???

Also can you post full list of ip addresses?

            Router
            PC
            Box 1
            Box 2

            Try both boxes on ITV1

              Router 192.168.2.1 (I think)
              Box 1 192.168.2.9
              Box 2 192.168.2.2
              PC 192.168.1.6 (I think)

Why has the pc got ip of 192.168.1.6? where others are 192.168.2.x?

Do the boxes still connect to the internet? and did you try ITV1 on both boxes?

I do not have ITV2 on both reciver, only 1W and 5E on both. I am not a specialist on IP adresses, so I can?t answer all your questions. But everyting is switched off in the house which can have an IP adress, except both receiver?s

You need to setup your ip addresses following the router. to find out the starting ip log into your router.

If your router has an ip of say

                    192.168.2.1

                    Then put box 1 to

                    192.168.2.100

                    Box 2

                    192.168.2.200

Pc can be left as is as should auto assign from the router. You will also need to set up port forwarding to each of the boxes from inside the router.
The gateway should also be set to ip of the router and dchp turned off

Google it with the make and model of your router, port forwarding

I have a problem now. The router wants a username and password and I dont know none of them?? So this will be a problem I think. The router is a Dell TrueMobile 2300
