2 DM800 with same ip adress, HELP

Hi.

It sounds like you have statically assigned the IP addresses of your DM800 and assigned them both the same IP address. If your router is acting as a DHCP server, then go into the setup on each of the DM800's and change the Network settings so that they use DHCP to obtain IP address and nameservers. Should be as easy as that.

If I do that they both get the same IP adress. I have tried several times. When I install my old DM 500 insted of DM800 no2, everything works perfect. The old DM500 has this IP adress 192.168.2.3 and uses DHCP. But no2 dm800 get?s this IP adress 192.168.2.8 (like no 1 receiver) when I uses DHCP. So there is a conflict between the 2 DM800?s.

Have you turned on use DHCP in both boxes under network settings. If you do that, the router should give both boxes different ip addresses.

Yes I have, but some says that it is a known problem with Clone?s. I don?t know if it is true. I have read that it is something with the sim card, but don?t know what the problem is.

I don't know if you have or not but have you checked the mac addresses are not the same ? They need to be different

Restarting the Dream and we get a new MAC address

I have never had the need to do this myself and never tried it but if you want to try it feel free.

I thought that the problem was that the two Dreamboxes were sharing the same ip address.
By saying no to Dhcp and assigning two different ip addresses should have cured your troubles?

Ive two boxes one upstairs and the other downstairs and get no problems.

For me this is difficult to change. Isn?t there an easier way to do it. Yes, the share the same Ip adress with DHCP on, but it will not work with DHCP off. Then some channels will not open and much of freezing on channels.

Should work fine with Dhcp set to off,this way you get no ip conflicts and you get to choose the ip address that you want,simples.
As for channels not clearing that could be a server problem.

No, Andy this will not work. Both receiver works perfect when one of them is off. And I have 2 different IP adresses now on both receivers and DHCP off and still no succes. Onlu one receiver works. Maybe it is because yoy have 2 different simcards in your boxes, that is why it work?s for you. Mine is 2 clones, one with ferrari simcard and one with sim 2.01.

Do you get fta channels on both boxes when on at the same time??

To andy: Yes, both receivers works on the same time on FTa channels.
To Buldog: I have now installed what you suggest in ETC/Network/Interfaces, but it do not works.

Have you checked and confirmed your macs are now different m8 ?
