Can I use the OpenVPN Access Server 1.8.3 on the server side on a ubuntu pc and Dreambox as a client or are they not compatible?

The two are compatilbe if you st things up properly. The access server is basically just an openvpn server with a database stuck on the end to control client access accounts.
I have to wonder what your setup is though ?
It would be pointless to be running the server in the same physical location as the client so I presume you aren't doing that, which makes me wonder what your trying to achieve.Comment

Openvpn can be made to work on any linux box that has enough free resources to support it. As long as the dreambox isn't being used for lots of other processor intensive stuff and it has enough physical flash/ram space left then openvpn is relatively simple.
Personally though, i'd tend to put openvpn where it really belongs, inside the router !Comment
