Hi, can anyone help with channel searching, I have a TM6900 super and alll is working fine, but I note when manually changing through the transpoders in the set up field, there odd ones here and there showing with just red bars. Is this my LNB frequency incorrectly set? or are they just not transmitting signals from the transponder?

they are what you would call "dead" transponders there is no more transmiting on them so you might aswell delete them.
If they would get active again a network search or a blind scan would pick them up again but for now they only take up memory spaceEverything discussed on this forum is for experimental and educational purposes only. Use the information at your own risk. -
this does not happen automatic if a channels starts to displaying no signal or states scrambled even if it was cleared before then it might be time to do a network scanEverything discussed on this forum is for experimental and educational purposes only. Use the information at your own risk.Comment

channel editing
Thanks thijs for the info. I have updated the Technomate software to their latest version and everything is updated for channels. put a usb stick format fat 32.in to STB.then menu>usb> data transfer.press green button to upload channels onto stick.
put stick in your computer and transfer or copy to a place of your choice.
open channel editor click on "file",click on "open" browse to where the cndf file from the stb is located then open.its just a question of playing around with it to see how to use it.to be honest channel editors have always been a bit too complicated for me and I have found it far easier to edit directly in the box.
once editted and saved transfer back to usb stick go to usb>data transfer in the box highlight the editted cndf file> OKLast edited by dick b; 15 October, 2011, 13:31.Comment

Thanks for this Dick b, it is of great help, the problem with the TM manual is that it does not go into the full detail of its capabilities for beginners like me.
Back onto transponder searching, I note that the LNB frequency can be changed and this allows or disallows a signal to be recieved on certain transponders on any satellite. Can anyone advise what the optimum LNB frequency should be set at in order to receive all available channels?Comment

Thanks again dick b and thjis, I appreciate the assistance and direction. I checked my LNB and it just states "universal", it came with the set up. My current settings are 9.750/10.600
So I assume that if I cannot get all signals without changing the TM setting it is not quite "universal" - or am I missing something here? or is there an LNB type that will receive all signals from all transponders?Comment

transponder list needed
Hi guys,
Can someone help me with how to get transponder list. I just bought TM 500 SUPER but couldnt found transponder list on the manual and I think I have tampered with some of it whilst setting it. Again how do I know the longitude and Latitude figures in setting up process. My motorised dish was installed with my old box but I thought it will be that easy setting up with the new box without having to call the engineer again. Also my LNB for all is 0 , is this ok or i need to change them.
Main transponder needed is Eurobird/astra2, hotbird, sirius, hellasat2 etc
Thanks for ur help.Comment

you should start your own thread really and ask "how to set up my TM500 super"But transponder info can be found on many sites try Home - FlySat Satellite Chart and the latitude and longitude you set in the box is your location lat/long.you can get this from your old box or Satellite Finder / Dish Pointing Calculator with Google Maps | DishPointer.com.Hi guys,

As thjis has asked what are you trying to get?
with a normal universal lnb and the box lnb settings set to 9.750/10.600(the setting for a universal lnb) you will get a huge amount of channels if you change the settings to 9.750/10.750 you will lose a lot of Transponders.to get the most signals from as many sats and their transponders its mainly down to dish size. There are other lnb types but I wouldnt worry about them.(google LNB types if you can handle all the info),I cant
