Hi. With a diseqc switch i would do the following for a motor and a fixed dish at Astra 19 east:
a) Get a 2 way TM diseqc switch or similar. The switch will have 3 ports labelled as LNB1, LNB2, or A and B. One port will be labelled as Receiver. You MUST connect the Receiver port directly to your receiver.
b) Start with the motor. Send dish to a satellite ie FREESAT 28 East. Do not send it to Astra 19 east. Check FREESAT is working.
c) If FREESAT working ok then set motor setting to OFF in motor menu. Switch receiver to STANDBY.
d) Disconnect motor cable at motor end ie the one that goes indoors to your receiver. DO not touch the LNB cable on motor and DO NOT disconnect from receiver.
You now have the switch connected to your receiver.
f) Connect a cable from motor to switch LNB1 port.
g) Connect a cable from fixed dish LNB to LNB2 port on switch. Please note that if you intend to leave the switch outside near the motor and fixed dish you wont need long cables. We now have all 3 connections made. Now we need to go and set up the receiver.
h) Switch on receiver from STANDBY. Leave motor setting to OFF for the time being.
i) To set up the switch do the following:
Go into MENU - INSTALLATIONS - SATELLITE SETUP. Select FREESAT 28 EAST . Then scroll down to DISEQC 1.0 (which should be OFF). Press OK. You will now see a 1of 4 setting and a diagram of a diseqc switch pointing to port 1. Press the yellow button to save. Exit out and save YES to changes. We now have port 1, ie the motor, saved as 1 of 4
in receiver. At this point check if pictures/signal are being received. If ok proceed to set up the fixed dish. If no signal check cable connections at switch and see if motor light is on. To setup fixed dish follow the same procedure but select Astra 19 east in SATELLITE SETUP and option 2 of 4 in diseqc 1.0 setting. So we should end up in Diseqc 1.0 settings with motor/FREESAT at 1 of 4 and fixed dish( 19 east) as 2 of 4. Remember to check the diseqc diagram 1.0 settings to see if set up is correct.
Check that you are receiving pictures from both satellites. If no pictures check cable connections or diseqc 1.0 settings are correct. If pictures/signals are ok then set motor setting back to USALS or 1.2.Like i said i tried a 3 LNB connections using the switch and worked a treat. I never tried it with a motor so would be interesting to see how it works. Remember the settings are based on a TM5400 SUPER rather than a TM5402. Hope this makes sense and is useful to you. Any queries let us know. Regards.Comment

Hi. i have just tried to connect my motor and a fixed dish from Hotbird to a 2 way diseqc switch. I had motor as LNB1 and Hotbird as LNB2. Both settings worked fine but with one receiver its a waste of time because you can only view one satellite at a time anyway. I am not too sure what you can gain from this setup with a TM5402. For me its best to just have the motor connected. Regards.Comment

Hi all
I have finally found the time to sort out the TNTSAT box. In the end I fitted a twin LNB and additional cable as no matter which method of connection I tried the TNT SAT box gave the "Antenna overcurrent" error message. It would only work correctly when connected directly to the LNB without the motor in the circuit.
Thanks for all the advice

Thanks m8,i will try anyways and see what i can achieve with this set up,i have line of sight problem with west sats and needed badly 24.5w,fortunately there's a fixed dish around that i can use for it.Hi. i have just tried to connect my motor and a fixed dish from Hotbird to a 2 way diseqc switch. Hi. For your info i used a TM 2 way switch model name TM 2-S
To save on cable lengths and drilling a bigger hole you can connect the switch outside your house/flat if required. Regarding your line of sight problem i would try to find 24.5 west manually by hand ie connect spare dish to your receiver and telly, then set receiver to a valid TP/channel and move dish slowly by hand until a picture or signal appears on Tv. If you find picture/signal then you know where to fix the dish. You can find satellite signals from any height or angles so long as there are no major obstructions like tall buildings or trees in the way. Regards..Comment

Hi Manic. Personally i prefer to use the old fashioned way to find satellites ie using my hands and eyes because it will tell me if cables/LNB are working or not. I suppose using Dishpointer can save time before installing a dish but is it 100 percent accurate?? Take careComment

Hi. You know i have never used a meter before . Also from what i have been reading people have all sorts of problems with them. I suppose like most things if you want quality you must spend money. Take care.Comment
