      Hi. Why dont you try to disable the patch and try to see if diagnostics works. If it works then you know its a patch problem
      and if does not work then your best bet is to reload original firmware from TM site. To disable the patch do the following, this works for TM5400 but not sure about your boxes.

      MENU - SYSTEM INFORMATION - then enter 2004 on remote. This will disable the patch. To re-enable the patch repeat the process.

          296 found elsewhere loaded ok. Stand bye ok but still unable to get into diagnostics. Regards.

                  Hi. Surely the tv should pick up the RF signal from receiver anyway so long as cable is connected.

                    it wont just pick it up you need to go into the TV setup menu and either do an "auto tuning"scan or set the channel number in manual scan to the same as that set in the TMs system setting menu sub menu A/V output setting

                        Probably because some people may want to watch there receiver in another room or another part of the house aka Sky Magic eye style.
