    no signal at all

after watching the match tonight on 39e i sent the dish to 19e to try and catch the darts but after a couple of seconds i lost signal (did have a picture for a few seconds) this happened last week also but i played around with it by moving fine and it came back but not tonight i've tried sending it between 19 and 28 east and moving fine but still getting no or bad signal, i'm wondering if the lnb has gone but its only about a year old could it be anything else? the dish seems in line with 28e going off the neighbours dish, i dont think it will be a problem with my tm 1500 ci+

Sounds like a bit of play possibly in the motor.
Send it to 1 west then back to 28e and see how you get on with it then.

i sent the dish to 1w got no signal then straight to 28e got a fleeting pic as dish moved to 28e and past before stopping with no signal so i moved it what seemed to be quite a bit west then moved fine and have it back working on 28 e now, when i got it re-motorised in the summer the installer did say the motor had a bit play but i was best to stick with it as if he had to fit a new motor it would also cost me for motorised set up again.

If using diseqc then just resave all sats.
A new motor is less than ?50 so installer was talking crap.

he said he would have to take the dish down and re-set the motorised settings again treating it as a new installation which would end up costing around ?200 inc the motor.

He obviously does not want the job, cant you try and fit a new motor yourself? its easy with a std technomate and if you leave the dish elevation as it is now(thats if its got a 30 degree spigot like TM motors) til you find that 1st sat it should be a piece of cake I"d set up on 28E as you will know all the channels.

he told me this on the day he set it up after setting up the sats so it would have been another visit but he did say he would have to take the dish down to put the motor on,if it was only going to cost the price of a new motor i would have got it done straight away i wouldn't try to do it myself as i dont like heights or ladders.

Totally agree manic but you know yourself every job is different so price can vary dependant on difficulty of access and work required.

I know a couple of Sky engineers & to be honest, they admit they haven't got a clue about motorised dishes.

Although they are very good with the distribution side of things & running cables everywhere.

he was reccomended by a mate where i used to live who was always up to speed with things and always up to the minute in terms of boxes and other equipment,i used another company when i moved in to this address and they supplied the dish and motor which has probably been faulty all along as i had problems all of the time at first with losing signal they came out several times but didnt mention the faulty motor,i then just kept the dish at 1w for a good while and then got it moved and fixed at 39e without the motor then got it moved and motorised again this summer, there not a lot of installers of motorised systems up here.
