Hey,

I'm very, very new to this. We have a TM 5300D + box and use 1 West to watch sprot etc. Our dish seems to be down and only getting a no or bad signal sign. Is it just a case of downloading the new softcam file and uploading it to the box using a USB?

Any help would be appreciated.

first what size dish are you useing and is it fixed or motorised?
next have you checked for a signal on the free to air channels?
like [bbc world news] and if that has no signal are your lnb settings correct in the receiver menu? also you might need to check the dish if it's fixed to be sure if it's a motorised system try moving the dish a little east or west to see if you get a strong signal.

I'm pretty sure the dish is fixed and I am have been getting the free to air channels as normal although the sport channels are down.

Sorry if I'm sounding a bit naive but i'm really not a techy in any way, shape or form.

hi m8,
if your getting the free to air channels with a good
strong signal and no signal on the scrambled channels
then you have a frequency problem, and a re-scan of the
satellite will sort the problem, if you have a signal from the digi-tv channels
and they just dont open load this softcam

Help on this one I have a TM6800 HD (not super) and it really doesnt work I down load the softcam files and put it on usb and then the box doesnt see the file it only sees the firmware and channel list, I know im doing somthing wrong but iv read posts for ages and not found anything. I am also trying to get a s.k.y. card to work with this box and have read so far a patch doest exist (am i right?), i thought thats what the whole idea of the slots were for. (im a noobie)

Hello mate,
I"ve got the same box and it runs ok with no probs.
have you put the latest patch in "674" I will look up where it is in the threads and edit when I find it. you will not be able to load the softcam into the official software.
The card slot is for subsciption cards,But it may be able to take a sly one with the right patch.
the other 2 slots are for CAMS either official eg;conax. irdeto.viaccess,etc.or the many unofficial ones about but I dont think they open any more than the softcams

the latest patch 674 is in the stickies "TM 6000 series patch" make sure you unzip both the patch & the softcam before loading into the usb stick.load the patch 1st then the softcam.DO NOT use the super patch.

I havent got the 674 patch im still baffled as to where it is.
I search for stickies and it comes up with a user :s.
Either stickies means something else or im just not seeing it.
That makes alot of sense about the softcam bit so thanks for clearing that one up.

Hi i have a tecnomate 5400, it didnt come with an update lead, all the channels are scrambled. they are saying i need the lead and a cam card? what is this? I have sky tv. What do i do?

The Tm5400 wont open up much right now. You can still get some stuff on Thor 1w with the latest patch, but for how long i don't know. Look a few posts up from yours. post

If i am reading this right... you have a tm-5400 conected to your s*y dish, I'm sorry to say if this is the case you will only get fta channels as s*y is secure and not hacked.

As for the diablo cam... that does not open much at the moment... and i would not advice you to buy one at the present time.

The ones in red are the stickys and will tell you all you need to know about your tm-5400.

After reading... if you have any Q's then post a new thread in the main section, and i'm sure you will get some help. If you have a moterized dish you could load the lastest softcam and see what you can pick up on thor 1 west...
