hello mate
I"ve got one of those boxes and its great to start out on, its a good price because they are now an older model and(nearly)everyone wants to go down the LINUX operating route.but I prefer to keep it simple and shall stick to my TMs. you will get a lot of advice from others regarding the pros of linux boxes but its up to you what you want to do.
any advice on the TM6800 just ask. -
tm
i think the linux route is going to be the way to go, but theres a big learning curve and it is not going to happen overnight, the tm 6800 looks to be a good starting point to get familar with the sat setup .what kind of channels to u get with the 6800 i like the history, discovery, nat geo type channels and comedy and some films are these obtainable if not what can i expect thanks for your replyComment

fearono has it right on the button but as I"m a channel hopping adict and there are hundreds of foreign FTA channels on the various sats as I said I"ll stick to the std boxes.all of the progs you want are still available with patch and softcam on 1West but as stated will be changing to a more secure encryption soon so dont buy a TM std box on that basis (they do linux boxes as well)i think the linux route is going to be the way to go, but theres a big learning curve and it is not going to happen overnight, the tm 6800 looks to be a good starting point to get familar with the sat setup .what kind of channels to u get with the 6800 i like the history, discovery, nat geo type channels and comedy and some films are these obtainable if not what can i expect thanks for your replyComment
