tm 600 streaming

hi all, got my tm 600 hooked up and upgraded the image to the latest ur. my problem is that i cannot get my pc to video stream to the box. i have dloaded vlc, set the ip on vlc to the router ip. ran the media player on the box but am getting an error message telling me that it cannot connect to the pc,


any ideas anyone....help please.

come on guy's need help please. I have just re done the image via the tm control centre so i know that the pc is set to the box, it's just the streaming via vlc i can't figure out. also what format do the movies have to be to play them from a usb stick?

are you trying to stream from your tm so you can watch on pc, or the other way round?

To your PC is easy, haven't tried the other way.

Just Managed to get XviD streaming to my TM600

Install VLC 0.8.6i

then create shortcut > right click on shortcut > properties > then add this to target line "--intf wxwin --extraintf=http"

e.g mine is now
"G:\pvr\VLC.old\VLC\vlc.exe --intf wxwin --extraintf=http"

start vlc from that shortcut and go..
Settings > Preferences > Input/Codecs > UDP port "change to 8080 and save"

Now Load TM webui > Zap > Stream > Settings > Server Settings > Edit
and change

Server IP Address : to the i.p you are running VLC on. e.g "192.168.1.2"
Movie Directory: to the drive letter you want the TM to be able to load files from.

Finally with VLC running, Press yellow button on TM and select "VLP (Movieplayer 1.5)

then just find file you want to play and select it. will take a while to start/buffer...

p.s
i found the quality to be quite low when streaming xvid's so i went back into
TM webui > Zap > Stream > Settings > Video Settings
and clicked on the little pen n paper icon on the avi line and edited
Video Rate: 2200
if you go much higher then that the video will start glitching.

think thats was everything i did...


Updates:

1) 576x576 and put the bitrate to 3000

2) also it wont load any files with spaces in the name, gives me an errors so just change.them.into.dots.avi

ur not wrong bugaloo. logged in but as you can see i am getting an error mssg whenb i try to edit the vlc target name?

it says: the name 'c:Program files (x86)\videoLAN\VLC\vlc.exe --intf wxwin --extraintf=http' specified in the target box is not valid.make sure the path and file name are correct.

any ideas mate?
