For a check on you alignment. See what you get from the following. After that, its fine tuning if you have a big variation.

While I'm sure the my numbers are not perfect I get the following SNR & AGC with zero BER

    30w 86 77
    1w 83 75
    16e 85 76
    19.2 93 75

    Got to go csb
thanks again, checking in a mo when the wife has finished watching come dine with me..

      any ideas peeps
yeah I get that error message up but ignore it,I think you can turn if off somewhere but its not on long enough to bother.providing your picture is ok I wouldnt worry about it. the figures that C_S_B gave will give you some idea what to expect on most sats you can receive(you wont get them all).but remember it will depend on the strength of a particular transponder as they vary a lot.eg:bbc world on 1W is strong and you should get an agc of around the 80s but some of the digi tv channels will only give you agc in the 60s.if you can get an agc reading on the stongest channels of around the 80s for the following sats your install is ok.
      30West (Hispasat) 1West (thor) and 42East (turksat).

thanks dick b, i have a reading of 78 on thor, but all the others are very low. to get them into the 70's/80's do i need to adjust the angle of the dish or the east/ west position?

        cheers

          my dish

hi m8, do both untill the sq drops if you move the set-up left/right and up/down. once you have the maximum quality you can get tighten the bolts up. if your still having problems with the sq on 42e/30w then you could try and ajust your usals settings by +/- 1 to see if that helps.

            hello mate,
it could be either or both 1st off check your mounting pole is 100% plumb(check all round).then send dish back to 1W wait for motor to stop then carefully slacken the motor on the pole just enough to move it (I put a car exhaust clamp under it to stop it sliding down)then move it gently L/R for the highest agc tighten up then slacken the dish at its scale(Not where it clamps to the motor)and move it gently up/down til you get the highest agc again and tighten everything up.on Usals if you have 1West tuned in ok the other sats will be found automatically and if the signal is poor it looks like your pole is not exactly plumb.

dont worry we have all struggled setting up at some time. The TM500/600 boxes are fine but the tm std boxes are easier to setup as they are a bit more user friendly.

will check my pole is 100% plum first. as i said i can get 1w at about 70/80. i thought i should be able to pick up the others fairly easy after that. will post back later when the snow has cleared a bit.

              cheers

once again thanks to everyone. i think i'm starting to get the hang of this.....maybe . a couple of things that i would like clarification on please
1: should i be able to pick up all sky freeview channels?
2: what is the benefit of using different cccams and do i need to use a card for these to work?

                      cheers

On 28.2e only fta not ftv ie freeview channels no.
CCam for sharing and cards keys etc.

ok guy's think i'm nearly there with my box... i hope. but am still getting a lot of channels on thor which are saying channel is scrambled. is this normal?
also when i scan another sat for channels i don't get the name of the sat saved in the channel list as i did with thor, hotbird ans astra. they go to a folder named removed service. when i open these folders the channel lists are there for the said scanned sat.

                            any ideas anyone?

                            cheers

                              Hi m8,

as for thor, you will only get FTA and RCS Digitv programs.

on your normal channel menu, press yellow "Providers" by pressing "RCS DIGITV" should give you all the channel that you have scanned in for that provider.
