Noobs guide to patching your Technomate

hi m8,
do you have a null modem cable ?
i have read that all technomate usb models are best
patch for the first time with a cable.
i know this might seem a daft question you say you have the 6900 super
does it have a ethernet port and a usb on the back?
and which usb port are you useing?

Am using the usb on the front.
Will see if I have a null modem cable around, deffo one on my desk in work, but that is 40 mile away.
Yep USB and Ethernet on the back, Just eye balled it to make sure
Could try the usb on the back

Make sure your loading the correct patch for your box.Double check the model number the patch is for m8

i would give it a go with a null modem cable mate
i have the original 6900 with a usb on the front only
and i always used that for patching after a fist patch with
the null cable,but i now changed to a clarke-tech 5000 HDc plus
and this is the same spec as the tm 6900 super.

the latest patch is jan 18, but even with the patch
you have if you press menu on your remote and go to options in
the receiver menu and turn the A/U off exit the menu and save the setting
then load the softcam digi-tv will open

How long do you have to wait for AU? I get to the stage where the patch has loaded and the 5400 has re-booted. Do you switch off and on after re-boot? (unclear in instructions). Also, when loading softcams etc, unit doesn't re-boot, is this ok?

Some times It can happen that after the softcam loads it does not reboot, I normaly just use the previous Softcam and wait for the next new one to come along.

Sorry for bieng thick but what is softcam,and do you have to load softcam befor a patch ?

load the patch first. softcam lets you watch some scrambled channels.
