As some of us are aware, this report is verified and is not the result of rumour mongering as has been suggested. It is also well known that the reports of units sold is highly exaggerated, and that many dealers have returned their unsold and unsaleable stock.
There are a few diehard TM users who will defend any TM box to the death, and that's their prerogative but for many users who just want their receivers to work with the expected functions of Enigma2, this box is going to be a disappointment.

Reading from the Technomate site, one sees:

TM-800 HD Linux
19th June 2010
Due to high demand of the TM-800 HD Linux,
we have sold out of stock. Stock will be available from around 15th July 2010. Our apologies for the inconvenience.

This unfortunately translates in reality to

Due to the failure of the ITgate engineers to finish the project, 2000 pieces have been sent back to Korea.

The 15th July date is significant in that Technomate is shut down at that date and there is nobody to take any orders.

reading a later announcement:

3,000 units have been sold successfully since launch with another 4,000 units coming within August, followed by an extra 6,000 units by the end of September.

No more TM 800 receivers will be therefore available until August/September. What happened to July 15th? One has to deduce that there are no more receivers coming soon and that TM is deflecting buyers away from the bad news.

To those of you considering buying these boxes, the best advice at this time is to look elsewhere. You won't be able to get one for some time anyway.

TM MD, if you are reading this. please come clean for the sake of your own reputation and for the sake of the hobby in general.

as this is now all in open forums, and has been cached by google, there is no removing it from the internet, ever.

TM has put out an official statement as a response to it as well.

there is a criminal offence called something like 'disclosure of confidential company information within the public domain' this could range from something as daft as saying your manager wears a dress on facebook, to disclosing the possibility of things a company is doing behind the scenes

it is a real criminal offence that you can be taken to court and charged with, i know this as sky took me to court for doing it

while im not botheres either way in the alsat/tm argument, as i deal with both companies receivers, please be aware that the law is there to try and discourage things like this thread happening

and before i get PMd, emailed, texted or whatever else, this is NOT a direct personal attack on anyone (which every time i post im accused of)

no, im not any form of law enforcement, in fact, on numerous times, ive found myself on the wrong side of it, being questioned, as you well know, as you also know that when i say i deal with both companies that i mean i sell and install both spiderboxes and technomate receivers, but as ive no ties to either of you, if you was to both stop trading tomorrow, all it would mean for me is that my sales of humax receiver would go up

and for fun, yep, i do stay out with my girlfriend, a lot, at least once a month we go on a drink and drug fueled weekend away

and this was the point in my post above, i worked as a senior engineer for sky in home service for 8 years, and due to my involvement with forums, was fired and dragged through the courts

but this is my last post on it now, i cant be arsed with posts being read the wrong way, ill carry on reassuring MY customers as like you say, its my reputation at risk, which took enough of a battering with all the delays of it being released

I can speak on behalf of Digidude here ive known him for a few years now and he is a very honest and helpful guy who is not after making any profits out of the members on here or anywhere else. I thank Digidude for helping me get set up with a sat system , without any profits or money for him. It was a phone call which he put me onto a shop he knew which was cheap, and i couldnt get it cheaper anywhere else in the UK.

This thread is starting to look like a few others the staff have closed or commented on that looks like a certain crew from another forum are trying their hardest to put people off some products to sell their own interests, and taking advantage of all the cable guys who are deciding to go Sat.

My opinion to any cable guys wishing to go the sat route, please do your home work, ask many questions. you will soon know the right guys to ask, and use the PM system once you feel you found the right guy, Most people on here will not try to sell you something, but will offer you free advice, thats the good guys.

We are closely watching certain people who we beleive are very clever in promoting their goods...
